I have an outlet that uses a 4 prong cord, my dryer has only 3 prongs. I bought a cord that will work fo the wall, however on the back pannel of te dryer, there are only 3 places to screw the wires into the back pannel, and the new power cord has 4 wires. red, black, green, and white. to make matters worse, the old power cord it not color codes so I can't really just match them up, no can i use the connecors on the end of the wires, cause they all look the same. and to make matters worse... I have lost my owners manuel and do not know the exact model number of my dryer. so with that being said. can i be helped...lol... thank you, brandy
Remove the ground strap from the middle terminal block in the dryer. Attach the white wire to this terminal. Take the green wire and attach it to the frame of the dryer. Attach the red wire to the right hand terminal, and the black wire to the left side terminal.
