Remove the ground strap from the middle terminal block in the dryer. Attach the white wire to this terminal. Take the green wire and attach it to the frame of the dryer. Attach the red wire to the right hand terminal, and the black wire to the left side terminal.

I have a dryer that has a 3 prong cord however the connection at the wall is a 4 prong outlet. I need to know how to change it.

The following link explains how to convert a 3-prong power cord to a 4-prong:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r793520-3_prong_4_prong_power_cord_conversion

The main difference is how the Neutral (White) and the Ground (Green or Bare Copper) wires are terminated at the terminal block. In a 4 -wire configuration these wires are independent of each other. In other words, neutral does NOT get grounded.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a 4 prong power cord coming out of my Kenmore dryer and I have a 3 prong power outlet in my wall. Can I replace the 4 prong cord with a 3 prong cord, and if so, how?

Purchase a 3 prong cord at a home improvement center. and replace your 4 prong cord. all you need is a screwdriver.

Yes, you can use any safety 4-prong as long as it is a dryer cord rated at 220V.
