When i turn on my camera it flashes"for use with compatible battery only" then turns off
I have a sony cybershot DSC-W30 and it had been working normally since christmas-time then suddenly stopped working and now flashes "for use with compatible battery only" then immediatly shuts off. I'm using the same battery that it came with...what should i do?thanks for any help!

take the battery out and let the camera sit for an hour or two, take out the memory card, try to view photos on computer, if it does not work, you will have to format the card and start over. Some times when the format on the card is bad, the camera will not work properly. I have two cybershots myself.
Check the manual- it may be in the menu or a separate button.
When you are sure it is switched on put the camera to your ear and listen for the flash charging up[a High whistle sound]
If it does not come on or the ready light does not show - then assume it has failed.
