TV turns off with a POP!

Hi, I have a similar problem also with my Pioneer that TECHMAN seems to have an idea. I just got it fixed and it worked for about 24hrs ha and then I was watching it again and it made the pop noise and shut off. When I turn it back on the light just stays red. Is there anything I could suggest to the TV repair guys so it's fixed for good this time. Thanks! Regards, Jeff Jumper

"I have a Pioneer VSX-1022 receiver. I was setting a FireTV to control it. FireTV turned it off but couldn't turn it back on. I held down the Adv Surround button and the Standby button and it came back on. Seemed to be working fine. Turned it off. Came back later to watch some TV and t wouldn't turn on. "

Maybe setting problem. Download VSX1022 service manual to read advance setting if this manual has. If problem cannot solve, just phone pioneer to call for help or send an email to their service department. They will help you. I recommend phone them. Don't be shame when call for help.

Pioneer elite tv turns off from a pop sound and manual says-will

It is most likely the power supply. Do not try to fix this yourself. There are LETHAL voltages inside such a TV, which can persist for WEEKS after it has been turned off.

Pioneer PRO800HD loud pop and flash of light AXY 1059-c

I'm working the same problem. Q127 shorted, R217 & R 133 open. Also have solder blown off one end of R222 and R351 (both sm 200 ohm). Looks like small, short trace evaporated on top layer between D145 and via directly below it. Q129 is open all ways (but not exploded).
This one has C164 installed as 1200 uf, 10V.

Any success getting your going again?

I've got a Pioneer projection tv, model # SDP5073 that suddenly won't turn on. I plug it in to other electrical outlets and attempt to turn it on only to have it click and the screen sound like it's trying...

We had a similar problem with our Pioneer....we called it our $3,000 shelf for 6 months since it held a much smaller tv on it while the people who were servicing it on warranty kept coming ot our house to fix it. We had our entire mother board replaced and it still didn't work. Finally, they had to remove it to their shop and promised to fix it or give us a new tv (which they didn't want to do as our model had been discontinued) and of course they fixed it. It didn't last all that long afterward--at least not as long as it should have for what we had paid for it at the time. Personally, I don't know that I would waste my time trying to fix it--Pioneer televisions aren't all that great!

Remote control dosnt work on this tv

I have the same plasma Pioneer tv. I also tried a replacement remote and no fix. I replaced the infrared receiver module (~$4 from Radio Shack) on the TV, yes it involved taking the tv apart. Voila, now I have two working remotes.

Edges of Picture & Text Sloping

This mis probably a cold solder connection in the horizontal circuitry called the pincussion. Theres a couple of coils and resistors that overheat from time to time and the solder connections get loose. Not really for a handiman has this tv has hi vboltage inside even when turned off. Shouldnt cost an arm ans a leg to fix if the repair shop knows what they Are doing. Good Luck

PDP-4330HD

This exact same problem happened to me 2 weeks ago on my Pioneer PDP-4330HD, and it did indeed turn out to be the power supply. The good news is, you can get it fixed for free, because Pioneer actually recalled the power supply in this plasma and others a couple of years ago.

Here is a link to the announcement on their website concerning the recall. They say that they will do a free in home replacement of your power supply, but when I called the local pioneer repair place, I was told I would have to wait three weeks for an in-home appointment. I ended up taking it in myself, and it was fixed for free 2 days later. Now it works perfectly.

Here's the number to call Pioneer in case the link goes down:
