Watching TV and the screen went black. I have sound.Came back on and a few minutes later went black again. Shut it off and turned it on with no results. Unplugged it and plugged it back in and tried again with the same results. Tried the menu it comes up, but the colors (RGB) are seperated and the screen appears pincushioned. Anyone have a clue?.

After 11 years???? OMG This set is a tired pup and should be put to reast. My experience with older sets and your complains are all capacitor problems and is only gonna get worse as the first time around repair will take several capacitors to repair. This set has no user serviceable parts inside so you should not attempt a repair suchj as this on your own.. This repair if you decide to go through the first time will be About 300 to 600 bucks the first time and cost will continue to raise till the sets put to sleep. Good luck

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.

No video but good audio Mitsubishi VS5051. Check R509 and R 519, 100 ohm resistors located on the main PCB near the flyback transformer. Also bad connections on any of the yokes and the vertical output IC will cause the same problem.

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.

Found the perfect solution. I put it out by the side of the road for pick up.
