before you can watch a recorded DVD on another DVD player you must finalize the disc. to finalize the disc put the recorded disc into the DVD recorder, when the DVD loads it will show the titles that are recorded on the DVD on the screen
push the stop button it is the button with the square on it. the screen will go blank or it may let you watch whatever tv channel you are on if you have your tv ran through the recorder, push the setup buton a new screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight disc edit, press ok another screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight "finalize", press "ok" it is the button in the middle of the arrow keys
scroll up and highlight "yes" press "ok" the recorder will finalize the disc and it can be watched on any DVD player, just remember when you finalize a disc you cannot add anything else to the disc.

Hi I am Vortash It very much sounds like you are not finalizing your disks .. any dvd recorder that makes a disc from computer dvd's to free standing unit s work on the same software principle , however the programs do differ slightly and finalisation stanard izes the disc to run on any player, without it another recorder will either not recognize the disk or the language it is written in . Read that message at the end and you will see the option to finalize or it will say do you wish to be able to play this on another dvd or it will do it automatically if you set it to do so in the menu on some sets .
if your player isnt doing this it is not set to do so in the menu settings disks can be finalized at any time after recording providing they are not over filled as the finalization process will take up at least 10-12 mb some do it in more some might do it in less depending on the software hope this helps Regards vortash

Make sure you have the right DVD disc and the disc is clean if you do... (2) make sure you connected it right and are fully seated. LINE IN on your DVD-R is for the recorder part LINE OUT on the tv is to send it to the DVD-R If you done that try another RCA cable or two That should fix it

In my research, I learned about finalizing the DVD, which was a new concept to me. I looked that process up in the manual and it did the trick.
