It is probably safe. But why not load up one time with new oil and cook a load of french fries, and then throw the oil and fries away, just to make sure.
check your hot oil level, it may be above the mark. also follow the maximum recommended batch loading. overloading fryers will result in oil spillage (overflow from tank) during cooking cycle.
When the issue starts have you actually checked the grease temperature? You can also checkto see if there is excessive grease build up on the themostat.Sometimes uncooked food particles can cause a boiling type motion in the fryer while they cook. be sure to do regular filterings of the grease, this will cut down on the suspended particles. If the grease temp is above 350, shut power off and check continuity on the thermostat,it could be sticking closed,in which case it will need to be replaced
The FryBaby deep fryer production was discontinued many years ago. The only place you will get instruction is at Presto, Customer Service, 800-877-0441.
You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.
