I got a MP3 player for christmas, and everytime we put music on it then go into the music section on the MP3 player it will say file system error. We thought maybe the music was not transferring onto the Player correctly but when we plug the player back in the computer the music preveously added shows up in its correct spot. I s there something wrong with just this one or are there ways to get around it so we can listen to the music we want on it.
mine won't even play the music whenever i turn mine on it say file erroe system

Bought mine 1/2/09, having the same problem. Loaded my first set of songs from CD's with no problem, but now getting this error after trying to add songs from internet, all paid for and legal. Waiting for Philips Customer Support to get back to me, hopefully they will have the answer, otherwise this baby is going back to the store for a refund. Will post answer when they get back to me.Bought mine 1/2/09, having the same problem. Once you have Songbird installed, launch it and select "Repair my Philips device" in the Tools menu. Select your device and follow the instructions specific to your device. For example, instructions for the GoGear Vibe are to disconnect the device, power it down completely, and hold the volume-up key during and after USB connection until the message window disappears.
If the repair utility endlessly indicates it is checking for updates, you are likely using an out-of-date version of Songbird - probably the one that came with your GoGear. If this describes your situation, launch Songbird and select "Check for updates" in the Help menu. This will at least get you upgraded to version 1.9 (currently), even though the latest version is 1.11 (currently).
Instructions that came with some older versions for connecting GoGear in repair mode were incomplete. They left out a crucial step of turning off the GoGear and waiting for it to power down completely before reconnecting in repair mode. Newer versions of Songbird include the ability to reformat the device, reset the device, and to get progress updates during synchronization.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files
put the music file onto your desktop, plug in the mp3 player, open the folder for it then drag the music file over to the folder, it takes about 10 seconds to put the whole album on
Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
Check the format of the music you are playing and if you have music that requires the license it will load the music but not play. It will show up as a file error.
That player is officially toast. There is no recovery software or firmware upgrades for that device - once the key system file is delted, it cannot be recovered.
Make sure the files you drag are mp3 and not audio files straight from a cd. If they are from a cd you need to put them in to the library of your music software first this should convert them to mp3 format
