thanx, but if it was the cable, would'nt i have the problem on every channel and not just soe of them?

  • g e mcintosh Jun 09, 2007

thanx blue, but it's not the cable.i checked my neighbors tv he has the same cable programming that i do.it only happens on 4 of the 15 stations that i have.the one that got my attention was the NBC station.the other 3 don't count.plus when i run it thru my home theater it sounds right.while perusing other sites for info,i've heard mention about boards.are all the components that make this tv work mounted on a board or boards?if so would you know the names of them?

Audio issue may be the cable. The green picture sounds like a convergence problem. Try to adjust the convergence in the menu and if that does not fix it you may need to get a repair facility out to take a look at the convergence amps.

Not every channel may be received as stereo audio and therefore the speakers play the exact same audio on each speaker. Check your settings to ensure you're set up for stereo operation.

By cable I was speaking to your cable provider. I apologize for the miscommunication.

Your cable provider may not have a quality signal coming to your TV.

If you've isolated the TV as being the culprit I would highly suspect your tuner since it is doing the demod on the cable signal. After the audio leaves the tuner, it is essentially treated the same regardless of what channel you're on.

I am getting a siren sound coming from my Vizio flat screen, what is that?

Without more information, it's hard to say- but, here's what it COULD be:
If it's coming only when watching TV on certain channels, the problem is somewhere along the cable before it reaches your house. If you hear the sound on TV or AV inputs, all the time, you may have a cable plugged into the wrong place, to one of the audio inputs (a red and/or a white.) If it's coming just from one channel, and you hear the correct audio in addition to the siren, you likely have something wrong with the electronics in the TV... if it's in both channels, it could be in the power supply, or in the speaker output circuit, or somewhere along the line... if it's just in one channel, it's likely in the amplifier circuit for that channel. I hope this helps, and please feel free to let me know if you have more information!

Sony KP-43T75 color repair

This link has the instructions on how to fix this problem and other similar problems. You have nothing to lose, so I recommend that you try it.

http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html

This works with the two other colors, blue and green also. Not all models of Sony Projection TVs have the red, green, and blue pots in the same order as the picture that is listed on this link, so you may want to google search for your model's service manual. The service manual can also help you be able to remove the cover for your particular model of TV. I was able to find the service manual for my model, and sure enough, the order of the pots are reversed on mine, so I would have been adjusting the wrong color. Read all of the comments on this link too, because you can find other helpful tips and may even find someone with the same model of TV as you that gives more specific instructions for your model.

You may also find your model's service manual here:

I hope this helps you!

Fare well. :)

I was watching tv, turned the channel and the sound quit. I turned off the tv for awhile and still no sound, on any channel. Is there anything I can do to fix it or do I need to take it for repair? It is a...

the speaker may have quit working. or possibly if the t.v has a headphone jack something may be in the hole causing te=he t.v to send audio to the jack instead of the speakers. if that is not it if you do have a jack for headphones you can plug in an adapter to hook up your media to an external speaker device, the first place to look is this jack, if no sound will come through your headphones either thanyou have an internal problem

I have a sony KP-51HW40 51 in rear projection we have a picture no sound. Do you have any clue what this could be? Thank you!

There are several easy things it could be.  The speakers could have been turned off in your audio settings or if you hooked up a cable or satellite box, dvd, vcr, game box or other piece of equipment that had it's own lines in for sound that could be part of the problem. Sometimes if you use picture in picture or the index function you can accidentally swap input and the primary input no longer has sound going to it.  I'd definitely recommend trying all the simple solutions first.

Audio problem with Sony Kp-43t75

Check multiple sources, this will confirm it the problem is before or after your audio switch. If the problem is on all inputs, you may need an new audio IC. It is the heatsinked IC right next to where the speakers plug into the A board.

Problems with hearing sound from bravia LCD tv through bravia DAV-HDX275 theatre system

The fiber optic port on back on your bravia tv is only for when your using a over the air antenna and watching local atsc channels in your local market. You need to run the fiber optic from your hd cablebox if it has one or your hd sat box if it has one. If you don't have a set top box with the fiberoptic port on it you can use a digital coax cable from the cable or sat box to sound system. The only other way to get sound if you don't have a cable or sat box is to run the red and white rca audio cable from the tv to the sound system and got to the audio setup on tv and turn the tv speakers off and you might have to adjust the audio to fixed instead of variable.

well sound like convergence for one and maybe another problem. First look at customer settings and look at convergence and try to realign. Then you can in Standby mode(Power Off) Press Display 5 Vol+ TV power on Remote. Fast. Now do you know what you want to get to? Because changing things here could cause serious problems with your set.
