Fisher tad-5160 cd unit DISK ERROR

Usualy, plug it in, insert a CD or a tape and push PLAY.
If there is a malfunction, you need to be more specific. Or check with your closest TV/audio serviceshop.

You could try and go to local stereo shop and see what they suggest. It is kind of outdated.

That usually means that your HDD (hard disk drive) is dead and its no longer readable. By start up pres F2 normaly thats the button normaly that will lead you to the BIOS go on overview and see if your HDD is still detected by BIOS. You can also try to see how bed things are by inserting a rescue disk on your CD/DVD drive press F12 when you do that and try to diagnose the problem. You can also try to reinstall your OS(operation system) sometimes that also helps but not in many cases. I Hope that help you a bit.

hope it is not too late but have had the same problem, just got around to open up the case and found the problem and was able to fix mine and now it plays fine. My problem was with the cd turn table it was not be feeding the cd into the player causing the m-error..

you'll need to run windows setup again.
Insert the cd restart and when asked to start with cd click enter.

M-Error is a mechanical error and could have a multitude of causes. just went through it with a TAD-5160 unit where it was a small slip gear moving a tin lever to ingage the transport sled to insert or eject the disk from and to the carusel. You may have to take the unit apart and asess the problem. Harleysp.
