TV won't turn on.

The TV stopped working a long time ago. Power button on front panel or remote won't turn on the TVThe trouble shooting section said that the problem might be that the parental controls were used to lock out the front panel buttons and to use the remote to unlock the panel buttons. Replaced batteries in remote no resposne to power or menu buttons. Manual suggested also unpluggin TV and leaving it off for two minutes...no change. Can it be as simple as a problem with remote and parental lock out of front panel or should unpluggingit have eliminated that problem. What shoulkd I try next?

First Inspect the remote batteries. also make sure TV is not on a LOCK ON option... now, the sensor is a small smoothly part near the TV front buttons, you can clean it carefully FYI, exposing unit remote sensor to direct fluorescent or outdoor light may cause signal interference.

That high pitched noise you're hearing is the power supply telling you that it has too much of a load on it and lowered its operating frequency which in effect cuts its output way down! Normally you don't hear any thing since the power supply operates at a frequency that's beyond human hearing. In an RCA this indicates more than likely that your horizontal output transistor is shorted and this short was caused by the flyback transformer shorting. This is a common happening with RCA's You'd need to take to a tv shop and have it checked out. Stargazer

believe it or noT: try replacing all of the switches on the control panel (((power button switch,menu button switch, etc...)))

Have you tried to access the menu features and tried to retune the stations on digital, or are you hooked up for analog.
If you don't know about what i speak, give me a yell. [email protected] I believe my remote sensor card is bad. While this might explain why you can't turn yours off, it would not explain the blank picture. If the menu does show, i would think the picture tube is O.K. if the menu does not show, there are some other things to look at.

Bush lcd42f1080p100hz remote will not turn tv on
I had come home about a week ago and pushed the power button from my remote but my tv did not respond. So I just went to the front panel and pushed power but once the tv turned on, the volume was on full blast! I used the front panel volume decrease to get the volume down, but when I stopped pushing the button, the tv increased its volume to full blast again by itself! Naturally I just turned the tv off for a few moments. I tried the remote again, no response again, so I used the panel power button. The tv volume was still full blast when it turned on but after I decreased the volume it stayed this time. The picture is and has been perfectly fine and the tv was working fine. The next day the problem started all over and now once we turned it off from frustration of having to manually use the panel to change channels, it now will not turn on at all. I have changed batteries from my remote, reprogrammed my remote, pushed system reset several times, unplugged it for a while, bought a new surge charge, and even held the menu and device panel buttons for 10 sec and tried to turn the t.v. on again! What other options do I have or what may be the issue at hand and possible parts that may need to be replaced?? Thanks!!

if no any power indicator at the front panel what you can do is to remove the back cover of the tv then look for a blown fuse at the power supply section. if ok, at this time a trouble shooting must be applied if you want to do it with your own just let me know and i can give you further solution good day.

do you mean the power indicator at the front panel doesn't light.ok this kind of trouble is in power supply section since the stand by doesn't work. the first place to be check is the fuse if blown. if blown with darkened color that was an indication that has other component part that get shorted. at this time you will need a proper trouble shooting using the a device like a digital or analog tester. if you don't have enough idea on how to do the job and necessary tools, just send it to the trusted service shop to fix the problem.thanks for using the fixya.

TV won't turn on power light flashes 10 times
Switch off the TV from remote, then switch off the on/off button on the TV, remove the plug pin from the power outlet. Cool off for 48 hours and then retry. If nothing works, better refer it to a qualified service technician.

I turned tv off with remote, now it will not turn back on. i have tried remote and button on front of tv.
Check the remote with new batteries. If it do not work, remote control has the trouble. You can't switch the set ON by its front panel power switch, as it has been shut down by remote command.

My tv wont come back on fpa lock on
Press Menu Button from any Remote control ( RC) by which could turn on your TV, press menu , menu drop down list will be visible on ur screen then wait 4 a minute or more till ur RC stop blinking , then go to Preference menu , go to FPA lock, turn it off. enjoy.

Front panel buttons and remote have stopped working.
Is the favorite channel menu a function that is normally accessed by a button on the remote?

If so, that button on the remote might be stuck.
If this is the case, the menu may at times pop up all by itself and other buttons on the remote and on the TV's front panel may not respond at all (it had happened on my remotes more than once).

Try to clean the remote control (the housing, rubber pad with knobs, circuit board) with ethyl alcohol, when you clean the housing, you should also clean the holes through which the buttons protrude, there might be some dirt that keeps the button stuck.

It may also be a stuck button on the TV front panel, so check these too.

Also, it could be something else, i just wrote the description of a problem and the solution which to me seemed most likely.

Hope you get it fixed.

Front panel button turn tv on and off
If both the remote and the front panel buttons do not work, I would be thinking that it is a problem with the TV's main uPC area. This type of fault can be involved, and would require factory level service where the fault can be properly analysed.

I can tell you in advance, that this type of fault can be expensive to service.

No sound - RCA Home Theater Projection TV. I have an RCA Home Theater Projection TV. The sound went out in the middle of a cable-broadcast show. We had not touched a thing on the set or the remote. The TV is definitely not on mute, and the TV volume at about 1/4 of maximum. You can hear white noise when you turn the volume up to max. All the cables (co-axial and jumpers) are pushed in tightly. There is a DVR/VCR combo connected between the cable line and the TV. There is no sound when we play that unit either. I rocked the unit back and forth gently to pull it out from the wall so I could see the back. The only other time we have had trouble, the repairman said there was nothing wrong except an intermittant loose connection. The last time we had this particular problem, the sound came back on by itself.
