My Super Nintendo games won't save, and it's not the save battery for sure

I bought a used version of " A Link to the Past" and i found a saved file. I deleted the file. Now when ever i try to start my gaming session it take 4 times turning the console on and off, and when it turns on, BOOM, no save. This is really bothering me since the SNES is my favorite console. I would love to play my games again.

Well try cleaning the game packs with qutips and rubbing alcohal then. It could be a bad game pack that you have purchased then.

SOURCE: Super NES is Driving Me Nuts!

Turning your console on and off *can* erase save game data. This is in the users manual. Intermittent operation on older electronics indicates an internal connection problem somewhere. See if Nintendo can direct you to a fix-it shop, as they no longer service SNES consoles. Failing that, ask local video game stores and rental stores where a good fix-it shop might be.

I have three R4i V1.41 for nintendo DSi. I bought them 5 months ago e i had never have problems. But when i loaded last game i have found 2 different problem : the first was : the R4i needload a new kernel...

Hi Marte,

You may well be using a fake R4i card, and you probably updated the software on your Nintendo DS to 1.4.2 and now it won't read it. This is normal for most clone cards since they can't actually be updated to use Nintendo's latest firmware.

The real R4i card has manufacturers website www.r4i-sdhc.com, NOWHERE ELSE. Check yours to see if it is this website. If it isn't, and you need a genuine one in the US/Canada, use DSCardWorld.com who are a preferred seller of the authentic ones. They also list NDS-Gear.com but I think they mainly do UK/European orders.

Good luck! Please upvote my answer if I've been helpful :-) Sorry about the possible bad news! :-(

My super nintendo won't save games when the console has been turned off. Is this a defect or is there a memory card needed??

Well its because theese game packs have a battery inside of them that aloows to to save the game data when the battery dies you loose all of the saved data and can't save any more either which sucks so you will just have to buy a new one then.

My game will save, but when I turn it back on, there is only the "new game" and "options" displayed...I can't continue from where I saved.

there isn't a way to bring back a corrupted Gameboy game save. The reason the save has corrupted is because the small battery in the game had died. Replacing the battery might fix your game, but it won't bring back your save. Well you could use a memory stick for the game boy color and advance and orginal gameboy then instead.

Robopon Sun Version Save Problem

Your battery needs to be changed. (Or you need to buy a new copy.)
Changing the battery may be dangerous to your game and will certainly delete whatever saved files you had but if you are successful you can save again and won't have this problem until the new battery dies.
Mind the direction of the battery when you replace it as well as the battery type. (As it may change from game to game/country to country.)

Super nintendo game can not save over existing saved games

Yes Try Reseting The Power Button Over And Over While The Unit Is Running Then Check. This Should Delete The Files. Also If You Have The Newer Version Of The Snes Pull The Game Out While The System Is Running And Put It Back In.
