I have the drivers on a su pplied cd. can't get them to load/
When you say you look for the card in the system and it shows you must have a windows generic driver, as you say you cannot get the driver to work, so uninstall the card and remove from pci slot and start again. if you are instructed to fit the card do so, but when the window in your taskbar pops up, it should say hardware, and then install the driver automatically, or a pop up will ask for the driver. if this is the case do not allow it to install the driver automaticcaly, select manual install instaed and in the next window there is an option to make windows look for the driver on your cd drive, tick this and then it should look in the folder on the cd for the driver, click next and the correct driver wil be installed, if it cannot find it, you may have to run the cd as a setup for the driver software and then the card will be recognised that way, it depends on the card instructions as to whether it is driver or hardware to be installed first.

I have a pentium 4 1.2 running XP pro I put the PCI usb card into the slot. It seems that the card is not being recognized. Yet when I look for it in the system, there it is. I tried to load the driver and when the system restarts, no card.
