SOURCE: I have an MP210 Canon

Hi! have canon pixma mp210
i had the same problem E 3
and service button on
and B and C blinking(okay they are always blinking at my printer because i recharge it with syringe).

The cause of the problem was bad inserted paper -> paper jam

First i checked paper tray -> found a syringe fragment
opened the printer cover-> found a small peace of paper

but the printer was still blinking with E3 !

i began to disassemble the printer(be careful with a small secure part on the front side under control keys..i have broken this s it:) )
than i saw no other pieces of paper there.

i decrease the clips where the paper goes through(white plastic stuff) and put a sheet of paper there and started the printer again!
solved!

ps maybe it is better not to disassemble the printer and put in some way the paper between the rotating pulleys(because the printer had this paper jam and wants to have paper there to give it out)

You may click on the link below then download the manual. After that you can see the directions and pictures for removing the jam. It would be more convenient for you this way.

My Canon PIXMA flashes Error 2 and Error 3 after I print several docs. After that it wont print again...when I lift the scanner to check what happened the ink cartridges wont move(like in replacing...

E2 error => paper jam (no paper)

E3 error => paper jam (take out the jammed paper)

I would reset your printer if this keep comming out.

1.Switch the Printer ON by pressing the Power Button (Make Sure Paper is not Loaded)

2.Once switched on, hold down the Power Button (DO NOT RELEASE)

3. Now press the Cancel Button and let go of it

4. Now Release the Power Button

5. Wait...

6.The INK LED will light up,

7. After a while it will attempt to print a sheet but because there is no paper the resume button will blink
Now press cancel

You have completed the steps and now should be able to print if not attempt this again from STEPS 1-7

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

Says paper jammed but this is not true

just try this,
1. Step 1
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer before you begin. With the power disconnected, you will protect yourself from being shocked. This is an important step when you are fixing any type of electronic device.
2. Step 2
Move your printer so that you'll have access the back panel. Unhinge the back access panel of the printer.
3. Step 3
Look for paper through the opened back panel. Remove any paper you find jammed.
4. Step 4
Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way it did before you opened it.
5. Step 5
Open the front or top access panel. This is the panel you use to access ink cartridges. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer. Go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.
6. Step 6
Remove any paper you find jammed here. There will be resistance from the paper feeder, so pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more serious problem.
7. Step 7
Close the front access panel. Make sure that it latches back into place.
8. Step 8
Plug the printer in and attempt to print again. If you can print successfully, you have removed the paper jam.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

Canon MP210 Paper Jam

A common issue is moisture. As the relative humidity changes, the paper will absorb some of the excess moisture. (Ink jets don't get as hot as other printers; but they do have temperature changes during operation.)

Unfortunately, the only solution that I have ever found is to use paper from a just opened package. Try to keep only enough paper in the printer for a short duration of printing (1-2 weeks). Keep the rest of an open package of paper somewhere else where the temperature and humidity stays fairly constant.

I hope this helps.

Error code on my ix4000 reads 5C00

Canon has a decent trouble shooting guide for this model:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

Click on the Step-by-Step Troubleshooting link under Tech Support

Unfortunately it does not give any possible solutions for blinking lights.

The user guide on the other hand does.
You can download this under Downloads -> Product / Software Manuals

Here is a summary of what the flashing lights could mean:

Two flashes: Out of paper or paper feed error

Reload the paper correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.

Three flashes: Paper jam

If paper has jammed in the printer, clear the jam, reload the paper in the printer correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.

See Paper Jams

Six flashes: No print head installed

Install a print head.

Seven flashes: Print head is defective

Contact the Customer Care Center.

Eight flashes: Waste ink tank almost full

Ink used for cleaning is absorbed in the waste ink absorber placed in the printer. Eight flashes indicate that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so that you can continue printing.

Important
If this error occurs, replacement of the waste ink absorber and maintenance of the printer are required. Canon recommends to contact the Customer Care Center as soon as possible. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing will no longer be possible.

Nine flashes: Ink tank is not installed properly

Open the print head cover and press the button of the ink tank and reinstall the ink tank properly.

Ten flashes: Battery level is low

Charge the battery. For details on how to charge the battery, refer to the manual supplied with the battery.

Eleven flashes: A specified period of time has lapsed without receiving a response from the digital camera or digital video camcorder / The digital camera or digital video camcorder connected is not compatible with this printer

Disconnect the camera cable, press the printer's RESUME/CANCEL button and reconnect the cable.
If the error is still unresolved, there is a possibility that you are using a digital camera or digital video camcorder that is not supported by this printer. Use digital cameras or digital video camcorders that are compatible with this printer.

POWER lamp flashes alternate green and orange:

An error that requires contacting the Customer Care Center may have occurred.

Disconnect the printer cable from the printer, and then turn the printer off and unplug the printer from the power supply. Plug the printer back in and turn the printer back on after leaving it about 10 minutes.

If the problem remains, contact the Customer Care Center.
