Led indicator light is stuck on clean and won't allow a new cycle to be set

It is an older dishwasher Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard 3 Sensor ATC Gt. I can push the Cancel/Drain button and it will respond by trying to drain I am leary of doing this because there is no water to drain and don't want it to burn up.I trip the breaker to see if a reset would work. It did not. I also held the Start button down to see if this would do a test of some sort and all it did was make the normal cycle led come on and the clean led continued to stay lit as well.

SOURCE: Kenmore ultra wash quiet guard 3 dishwasher problem

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence

Hi Claire,
Are you using rinse aid?

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultrawash QuietGuard 3 Dishwasher not draining or rinsing

Not draining may either need new drain motor. or something is blocking the drain pipe.

Spots on dishes means you are using to much detergent or the wrong kind of detergent.

Your owners manuel should tell you what type to use.

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard 5 making buzzing/grinding noise

I have a very similar dishwasher, with a very similar problem. I fixed it by removing debris from the water evacuator pump located towards the front of the bottom of the machine (the last motor before the drain hose. In my case, grape stems had clogged it up. Once emptied, it purrs once again. NOTE: don't disassemble the motor, just flush it out, there is an o-ring gasket that is a bear to re-install.

Model 665.13732k600 seriel FT4610713 dishes are not getting clean, they look like they have a film on them. Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard Deluxe

The film is the stuff and the old soap backing up in the dishwasher. There is no cure for this. You can have them come out and it won't get fixed because it will happen again. They did not put a large enough drain/disposal on the models. Essentially you are eating old soap - goodness only knows what is in it.

Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet guard 3; can't get the clean light to turn off to be able to start cycle

Try pressing normalwash-heatdry-normalwash-heatdry-normalwash-heatdry-normalwash-heat then all the lights come on.
Let run for a little bit. then keep pressing the start button... until the unit shuts off, then try running a cycle.
The control board has a memory in it. So if you have cold water running in it one time. It will take longer to warm up. Your memory in the control board says its taking to long to warm up. Shutting down thinking there is something wrong with your heating cycle.

Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard 4 dishwasher - clean light blinking

I have the same problem. I called the repair guy and he told me how to do a diagnostic check on it to clear the problem out and let it run a cycle to see if it fixes itself. That cleared my problem with the light but unfortunately didn't fix my problem. Press the heated dry button, then press the normal wash button. Press the heated dry button again and press the normal wash button again. Then let it do its thing. If all the lights go out and it does not run a complete cycle, then press normal wash and start to see if it will run the cycle. To speed up the test cycle, he said you can press Start several times slowly to get it to go to the next cycle one at a time. You will see the red lights change from sensing to washing to drying and so on until it goes to clean. Then try to wash some dishes and see if it works. If that didn't solve the problem, he said it could be that there is food or other items stuck in the bottom and needs to be cleaned out. Just remove the spray arm on the back and top of the dishwasher by the 2 screws and take it out of the dishwasher. Then remove the screws at the bottom and take the screen out to get to the tray at the bottom to see if there is food stuck in there. Pay attention to how you took it apart though, so you can put it back properly. Also check the spray arm and run water through it to remove anything that might be stuck in it. If that doesn't solve it, he said it could be the heater or your motor or possibly wires burned out. I am looking at trying to remove my motor now to see if I can replace it and check that before I pay any money unnecessarily. My repair guy is so busy that he tries to help me over the phone before he comes out. Great Guy. He said that if it is the motor, the charge to replace it is not worth fixing, but if the repair is only 100 to 200, that is definitely cheaper than the cost a the same kind of dishwasher I am planning on purchasing to replace it. They say that because the do not want to work on it. A lot of times they do charge more than it's worth though, so you have to get an estimate concerning your worst possible problem before hand so you can make up your own mind. Hope this helped you. Now I will see if anyone can help me figure out how to remove the motor from my Kenmore Quietguard 4 Dishwasher. Have a great day.

Dishwasher Clean light blinks constantly.

Try turning off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker box. leave the power off for 5 10 mins and then turn breaker back on and try to restart dishwasher. This may reset the board and it may work
