I have coby dvd 283 player , i don't know why it is not playing ..........when i start the power button and insert disk , then on my tv on right hand upper side of the tv only a picture of the disk rotating round is seen .................pls help me out what shall i do
When I insert a disk, the "spinning disk" (disk reading) icon comes up in the upper right hand corner of the TV screen, and stays there for a long time. Sometimes the disk actually starts for a bit, but then freezes (this may actually repeat several times), and eventually, the screen always goes black and comes up with "Invalid Disk." I'm using a DVD that I know played before on this player, and still plays on all of my other players, so it's not the disk format or a problem with the disk itself -- something has gone wrong with the player.
invalid disk when disk used to play fine. I have not moved the dvd player, have used it THREE times, now this happens... is it fixable?
After your recommendation I went out and bought one. It did not work. Any other suggestions? Thanks! After your recommendation I went out and bought one. It did not work. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
You can try manually cleaning the laser lens ( gently wipe , do not press down hard , it is suspended by fine wires ) using a q-tip and a drop of that cleaning solution you got with the laser lens disc. ( fluff another q-tip a little ) then dry wipe it with another q-tip and try a disc.
you can look at the laser lens and see if you see the laser come on also to determine if that is working ( do not look directly into the laser ! )
if the laser works but it still does not read discs after cleaning it manually , then there is a problem with the focus coil on the laser or the signal board is bad

Did you make the disk if you made the disk your computer has to give it a digital signature so the DVD player can read it if you're using a regular DVD then I would very carefully using rubbing alcohol and Q tip clean the actual laser I would be very careful doing this if too much rubbing alcohol is on the Q tip it will ruin the laser you can also try resetting the DVD player by taking out the battery and unplugging it from any power source and leave it that way for at least 20 seconds to a minute if that doesn't work you might have something else wrong

Try to use a different dvd because that one might not have been burned or made in the right format. If that doesn't work, then try blowing on the laser just in case there is dust on the lens causing it not to read the dvd properly. If that doesn't work, then you might need a new dvd player.
NOTE: Make sure you DO NOT have a disk in the tray while performing the region code procedure

do you see the laser light come on when the disk spins if not it has probably lost power or failed, if so sometimes the laser head gets moved to close to the drive mechanism and the motor cant pull it out. i have found several of these that had this problem.
