Razor Your correct, you will have to open it up however which may void a warranty depending on how long you have had it. It is possible the converter went bad, this happens in these. well, if volume is fixed, you have to see if in the control program for sound, you can disable and use the headphone sound program in windows.

i had the same problem with same speaker system. the amp for this system is inside the bass speaker. if your amp is still working but your bass speaker is not you could cut the wires to that speaker making sure the cut wires do not short out. i was quoted more to repair them than it was to buy a new set. but i wont be buying logitech again as ive had two lots fail.

How do i connect my logitech x-230 speakers to my laptop?

On the top close to the screen, side or back of your loptop you should have a speaker port and a mic port plug the speaker wire in the speaker port.

Logitech x-230 2.1 Speakers: My speakers power on but do not work i guess because of loose wiring ...how do i open the speakers and check the problem??

If the speakers are still under warranty its best not to open them. You will lose your warranty. If the speakers are still under warranty, take them back to where you bought the speakers and ask them to replace the product.

But to make sure the speakers are working, plugg the green audio jack into another source to see if its the speakers or your pc. helps to narrow down the problem to a single source (pc or speakers), turn the volume up and down to test them completly.

If the speakers work with a ipod or a similar device, it could be your computer that is the problem.

Since I have windows vista, my logitech speakers x-230 stopped to work. I installed all updates, everything is connected correctly, even sound test seems ok, saying everything is working properly - but...

need to download audio drivers from manufacturers website for your computer and that should take care of the problem
