For some reason my remote stopped working. I have changed the batteries, reprogrammed the codes, the lite still comes on when the buttons are pressed but none of the buttons work. Any ideas?
The buttons on most remotes are in fact a silicone rubber sheet with a conductive blob in the centre of the buttons that makes with the printed circuit board. Dismantle the remote with care - a small screw near the battery compartment and the 2 halves of the shell snapped together.A thin blade to prize it apart starting near the battery end. Lift the rubber sheet of buttons and gently wipe the underside with a piece cotton wool soaked in detergent water and squeezed dry- or if you have them a 'Moist Wipe Tissue' Do the same with the circuit board. Make sure they are absolutely dry before re assembly. Before you re assemble you will see the underside of the circuit board- plain plastic no circuits probably rests on pillars in the bottom shell. A thin piece of card may improve the contact between board and button sheet.
