Valley II lav. faucets new handles do not have ''stops''

I had to replace my handles on the Valley II Y28405-74 wide set lavatory faucets that we have all around our home but the problem is that the replacement handles do not have the ''stops'' that keep the handle from just turning around a full 360 degrees. The original handles were molded with a piece that came down and hit the stop on the stem to keep them from turning around. Is there some way to modify the new handles so that they will hit the built in stops on the stems?

Check with a local plumbing supply or decent hardware store (Ace) to see if they have handle inserts that will do the job. Don't know about Danco handles but I sourced some for another brand that worked well.

Good luck.

How to remove handles

I have extracted the legend of figure 5B of the installation instruction here for your reference:

Remove handle from the faucet by loosening set screw (1) and pulling off handle. Once handle is removed, loosen set screw (2) from the bottom of the handle, remove accent (3), replace with new accent, tighten set screw (2), replace handle on faucet and tighten set screw (1).
Here is the link for the installation instruction:

Lav center set faucet handle removal model K10271

The handle may be secured with a set screw in the body of the handle that must be loosened before the handle will lift off the valve - the set screw will require an appropriately-sized hex (or "allen") wrench. If you cannot find a set screw on the handle, then the handle is friction fit - in which case no tools are required, just a bit of force to lift the handle off.

Hope this helps. Post a reply if you need further assistance.

Re: single handle lav. Ashfield: cold water flow is fine; hot water flow severly restricted. Have disconnected supply tube and flow is fine into a bucket so it is not a problem with valve or supply...

I have the same problem with my Ashfield faucet.
I am going to contact Price Pfister and try to get a new 'cartridge'.

On another note, my Ashfield towel rings are also broken. The connection where the two pieces meet is so weak it cannot handle daily use. I am going to bring this up with Pfister as well.

It doesn't seem like Price Pfister has very good products.

How do I remove handle of lavatory faucet to replace cartridge? The faucet is dripping and making a noise

There should be a small hole under each lever handle. Inside the hole is a handle setscrew. Use a 2.5mm hex wrench to loosen, not remove, the setscrew. turn the screw counter clockwise to loosen, and then the handel should just pull straight up and off the faucet. Here is a parts breakdown for the PRICE PFISTER Treviso Wide Lavatory Faucet T49-DK00.

Lavatory distance from front of countertop

There is no standard. Customarily the lavatory will be centered between the front and back of the cabinet as measured from the inside. Different styles of faucets (deck mount or sink mount), lavatories (self rimming or undermount), and customer provided preference can all affect the reveal from the lav to the front of the counter top as well as the length of the countertop reveal itsself
