You must match the model of your laptop and download the right version (widnow OS) for you laptop.

in my experience, if you install window xp sp2 or higher version, you don't have to install the Mass Storage Controller driver, becasue window include.

in face, if you don;t install , it is not a big deal, or your window also install for you.

Question mark at mass storage adapter it says no driver installed. for gateway mx6453

There are a few drivers that may need to be installed.
Click Here to go to the download page for your model.
Once there, bookmark the website, as you may need it in the future.
Second, download the "Chipset" driver - install it by double clicking on what you downloaded, then after it finishes installing - reboot your computer. (THIS SHOULD FIX IT)

Check to see if the problem is still there.. if so, try the following drivers from that website:
Card Reader Driver (TI 2.0.0.9)
Card Reader Driver (Gateway 2.0.0.2)
Memory Card Reader Driver (Gateway 1.0.3.2)

Wireless won't work and I can't get mass storage controller to install. I wiped my computer clean, when I try to install it says address a problem with texas instruments PCIxx12 flashmedia reader. I have...

Did you install from the Gateway-modified version of the Microsoft Windows CD-ROM, or from a "generic" Microsoft Windows XP disk?

If the latter, then your computer is missing the "device-drivers" for some of the Gateway hardware, namely the wireless adapter, and the M.S.C.

So, access Gateway's web-site, enter your model-name and model-number, and look for "downloads" for Windows (XP? Vista?) for your computer.
Download and install the selected device-drivers, to add support for those devices.

Mass storage controller driver for gateway mx6421

A 'mass storage device' is any device on which files can be stored (HD, Memory card, thumb-drive etc.) so that controller is not for the USB ports as such, but may indeed be for a storage device that plugs into a USB port (card-reader, external HD). For a laptop, it may be for a built-in card-reader which is connected internally to the USB bus.

Go here and enter your laptop's serial number to be sure of getting the proper drivers specific to your machine, as you may be trying to use the wrong driver. Only by entering the serial number can you be sure of getting the correct files:

Mass storage controller driver

Greetings,
IDE controller starts to install the driver automatically as soon as you restart. The best way to get it completely removed from your comp is that in case you are using Windows XP or higher version goto Safe mode by tapping the F8 key on the keyboard on restart. goto control panel to Add/ remove programmes and uninstall the software completely. I hope I helped you out.
