Motorola MD451 phone "Out of Range?"

I have a phone Motorola MD451 and it "doesn't" have a dial tone and the message on the phone states "out of range" how do I get it to work? I lost the manual on it. I don't understand all the requests on the menu screen. Please help me...Thank you!

I have the same problem with my MD400 series. Disconnecting the batteries did not help, responding to the solution of the other individual. What else to try? Any suggestions?

We removed the batteries from the base as well as the handset, put them back in and then it worked!

Tried a lot of things-didn't resolve the issue. I removed the battery--BINGO! (In the excited words of Dr. Frankenstein, "It's ALIVE! It's ALIVE!!" Thank you. lol

Voice mail

Do your Dial tone sound different. Your phone listens to the dial tone. if you have a new voice mail your dial tone changes.and your phone does the flashy thing accordingly. Contact your phone company.

Maybe your provider gave you a fax number instead of a cell number. Or quit redialing the same fax number and try some regular ones.
