no, there is no internal fuse, unfortunately- because this sounds like a dead motherboard. the aftermarket power supply could have been over-volting, or delivering unsteady power- burning the motherboard.

OR the old power supply shorted, and blew the motherboard's power circuitry, and you were just running off battery power when you first got the replacement.

please keep in mind that, at times, the physical power input jack on laptops can also break, or come loose from the motherboard.

One is under the dash on the drivers side. The other fuse box is under the hood, between the battery and the left fender. This fuse box contains many relays as well as fuses

if you remove the console on the unit the fuse is usually located behind it... they will have a fuse block or it will be located on the control board itself.... hope this helps you out.... good luck to you ...

I think that it would support IDE HDD atleat up to 320GB. As i have used 320GB HDD with similar Asus board

There are no fuses on the motherboard. If the motherboard doesn't work even if you have used another power source and all the other components are good then the motherboard is dead and it cannot be repaired. Throw it away and buy a new one.

A diagram of the fuses and their corresponding circuits is located in the owners manual of the vehicle. Also, there may be sticker on cover of the fuse block. 

There is a CD tool called "Ultimate Boot CD" which can be downloaded at http://www.ultimatebootcd.com. On this CD there are quite a few tools that you can use to test your RAM, CPU, Hard Drive, etc.. for problems. Just boot up with this CD and select the corresponding testing program to use. Test each thing until you find the component causing the issue.
