Question about Sony KP-51WS500 51" Rear Projection Television

Blue screen..... hi. i have a sony kp-51ws500 model about five years old and just recently the screen turns all blue after about 10 seconds of it being on. can anyone tell me what the problem is? is it something worth fixing? if so, how much can, or should i say, expect to pay for this problem to be fixed. any info would be greatly appreciated...thx.

You have the classic sign of the failed Sony CRT. This was a VERY common issue with tese series of TV's. Just replacing the blue CRT alone isn't easy as they are no longer available and have to be pulled to be rebuilt. If you do that I highly suggest replacing the green and the red as they will follow. Maybe not now but trust me they will. You are looking over 1000.00 in repairs.

Common issue on this set--locate the master screen / focus block and lower the BLUE screen control until the blue cast is gone, only a slight adjustment will be needed.

Have a sony kp 51ws500 with a perfect picture for 30sec than the picture fade to a blue screen bow at top and bottom for 2 min than turn off red power blinks

Replace TDA6120Q on the blue CRT board.

When i turn my tv on the picture is fine but within 10 seconds it starts fading to blue and after 20 seconds it goes almost completely blue then shuts off and flashes a red light

the blue crt has failed most likely. very common with that model.

Kp-51ws500 all my channels have a blue hue to them Color adjustments on menu do not help TV is 5 years old, just started recently

if blue has retrace lines,turn down blue g2 control located through the front of tv after front lower bezel and cover boare removed
