Hello...my boyfriend and I both received a Samsung WEP 170. The units came from two seperate places, but neither one will even turn on. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
Same problem as everyone else. Plug in the charger, light goes from red to blue, but flickers intermittently. I let it charge all night, tried to power it on the following morning, and NOTHING! Dead as a doornail. This is my first attempt to use it. Unfortunately, it is now three months out of warranty, and neither Verizon Wireless, or Walmart (where I bought the phone package) will do anything. I'd really like to resolve this, so please pass on any fixes you might learn about.Same problem as everyone else. Plug in the charger, light goes from red to blue, but flickers intermittently. I have found a similar problem with the rear speakers on this unit (needing to be reset each time the unit was turned off), but found a quicker way around it.....with
both the main unit off and the rear receiver off: turn on the rear
speaker receiver, then the main unit. If the blue light on the rear
receiver does not come on, turn off the main unit, and turn it back on
again. This has worked for me ~50 times or so and has worked
repeatedly. It's faster than going through the reset phase each time.
Also when turning off the system, turn off the main unit first, and
then the rear receiver. Sometimes I also simply leave the rear receiver
on since it pulls only 4 Watts. Hope this helps any users.....(it also works on my boyfriends older generation model).
When your home theater's display reads PROTECTION, it means the home theater is over heating and the unit will shut down to prevent any damage. This can happen if the unit is stacked along with other electronic devices or the unit is in an enclosed area that prevents the unit from cooling properly. To decrease the chance of overheating, relocate your home theater to a more open area.
If the home theater display reads PROTECTION every time you turn it on, no matter where or how the unit is placed, it needs service. To set up service call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864). Have your model number and serial number on hand to set up service.
I had a similar problem with my headset.
It turned out I was using the pairing button not the power button to try and turn on.
Check the manual make sure your using the correct button. Zod
I bought a pair of Sony headphones for my MP3 player, they came with three sets of rubber covers for the bud part of the head phone. I have the WEP 170 also but didn't like how it fit in my ear, so I took one of the Sony bud cusions and replaced it with the one on the WEP, works great and even helps to cancel out noise.
