MY NEW TOMTOM HAS WRONG TIME. ONE HOUR AHEAD. HOW DO I RESET THE CORRECT TIME?

Tap changes preferences on the main menu
then you can do set time or set units depending which model you have. You then set the time zone and the unit gets the time from the gps satellites and display it with your local time zone changes.
You may just have to set or enable DST (daylight savings time ) if after setting the zone/time it is still out.

If you don;t have can;t find your manual you can get a pdf version free from tomtom. Just go to www.tomtom.com and click on support and then look for user guides. You may have to set your location/country-language before you can get to support. Then just download the manual which you can read or print using a pdf reader ie a free one such as adobe reader. The time stuff is covered under the preferences area on the manual.

Why doesn't it say the NAME OF THE STREET that you are to turn on? It will tell you how far ahead the turn is and then tell you to turn R or L but it doesn't give the name. Also, there have been several...

I have a tomtom 920, it will say the street name to turn on if set to do so & only then if using computer voices, not human voices. Tuning the wrong direction could be its wrong or its trying to take the fast route via a highway, longer route but get there faster

My TomTom XL has the wrong time on it.

Go to "change preferences" in the menu then page forward to "set clock"
Specify the preferred clock format then "Sync"... you can then use the up or down arrows ( above the hours & mins) to set the hour for your own time zone.
then select "Done"

Tom tom one 3rd ed only turn on one time now it will not turn on

Hello, Unplug your Tomtom device, batteries should be fully charged. The tricky thing to Tomtom devices is the ROM put into the device. It needs to be reset once in awhile. The soft reset is like formatting a hard drive but leaving the system files alone. At the bottom of the device, there is a reset button. You'll need to use the end of a paperclip to reset the unit. After it's reset, reinstall the Tomtom application only by using the Tomtom Home application. Let it reset itself and come back to the original screen, then go to menu and set your preferences. Also if it's connected to Tomtom home and if you backed up your data to your computer, reinstall your maps. The only time your Tomtom device gets bogged down and won't finish a reinstall is when all 1 GB of memory is used up. Hope this helps.

Won't work

Press the reset button underneath the tomtom with a paperclip for a few seconds when plugged in. This could take half an hour of resetting every 5 minutes and sometimes does the trick straightaway. If it still does not come on there might be something wrong with it and you might need to get it repaired.
