I ran a load of laundry and went to do another one, but the lights won't "stay on". I've made sure the door is closed/locked, push the button and when I go to push the start button, nothing is lit up. How do I get it started up again?

On some Kenmore front load models, if the black gasket around the door opening is unseated (for example, because you drag some heavy wet laundry over it) the door will not engage the lock and stay closed. This is a feature to prevent the washer from leaking when the gasket is not sealed. To fix it, simply reseat the gasket and the door will close and lock.
did you unplug it,leave it unplugged for 5 minutes and plug it back in,if it's to hard to get to plug flip the breaker and leave the power off for 5 minutes or longer when you power it up again the door should unlock.here's a link to check hope it helps
I would assume the load in the washer is a small load and the washer has a difficult time adjusting the load to spin. I would push pause, wait for the system to unlock the washer. Check the load for how much water in the garments. If heavy, the unit has a unbalance issue, just try to continue the load. If the clothes are light than unload the washer into the dryer. Was the unit ran on delay? This may be a non issue if the unit ran on a delay and just never finished yet.
Give those a try and get back to me, I and interested in the status.
Press and hold the control lock button down until the light goes off. This is a child proof feature that may have come on if you leaned against it to long. After lock light goes off you can use the machine.
ok try first to make sure the detergent drawer is closed tight if its not will stop washer is the door locked some times you have to close them firmly make sure the lock light is on hit pause cancel twice then try washer
