Blue/Yellow in upper left corner

Our set is showing Yellow and Blue in the upper left corner. I guess it's a shadow effect, almost like a color is missing, which I think would be the Red. Any thoughts on this. thanks, Ken

DARK SHADOW EFFECT UPPER CORNERS OF SCREEN

I would check for dust particles before I attempted any type of repair on the unit.

Dust particles will appear as dark spots that are larger than the size of an individual pixel. It must first be determined if the particle(s) are on the LCD panels or the screen.

Color convergence on our Phillips 46999302/17F

If you are not able to adjust the convergence using the remote you need to replace the convergence chips.

Typical Symptoms

1) Convergence menu does not work for one or more colors.
Example: RED moves up,down, but left or right fails.

2) Screen is bowed looking.

If you have one or more of the problems above you need to replace the convergence chips. You can get a kit and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com

Philips Blue Shadowing

If you have not already done so go into the picture menu and set the convergence. The convergence is the angle at which the three picture tubes meat at a given distance. The tv will have at least 3 and up to 64 convergence points, and those 64 can be set for all three colors. This can be tiresome but I'll be it will solve your problem. What your trying to do is get the color in the cross-hair so you cannot see the color behind the target. On top of the fine setting for each point and color you will probably have 3 gross adujustments for blue and green and maybe red. These adjustments will affect positioning, like what you are discribing. You should do this at least every month, the thermal cycleing of the lamps is what will cause this to creep out of adjustment.
