Question about Hotpoint HSS25GFP Side by Side Refrigerator
I have a Hotpoint side by side refrigerator with filtered water/ice maker. About 4 months ago, the auger arm broke in the ice bin, we replaced that, but in the mean-time we turned off the icemaker (water still worked in the door). Once the auger was in and ice bucket back, we turned on the icemaker again. All parts in the icemaker seemed to work, but no water came out. All the information I could find seemed to suggest that the water line was frozen. I defrosted the freezer and used a hairdryer on the water line (behind the fridge) and inside the freezer (careful not to melt anything, as suggested). No luck. I just threw my hands in the air and gave up, figuring that I'd be making my own ice from now on. But, today, water came pouring out of the freezer.(From the water tube that fills the ice tray). The water would not stop even when the ice tray was full. The icemaker was not turned on. I turned the water line off (shut off seems to be working, water stopped leaking) to the fridge and defrosted the freezer again. I haven't changed the water filter in about one year but I have not had any problems with the water flow from the door. What can I do?
Just fix it.

Sounds like the line was frozen but the water fill indicator is faulty.

Water expands when it freezes and you probably have too much of it when the mold tray fills... Readjust the level to a bit less and you won't have triplet or quadruplet ice cubes..
Hope that helps...

The first thing I would look at is the two solenoids on back of refrigerator. Each of the two have 2 wires. Switch the two sets of the two and then try the water dispenser. If the dispenser then don't work the ice maker should begin filling. If this happens you will need to purchase a new duel solenoid for that fridge. Hope this helps, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: icemaker auger
To see how the auger goes back together, go the the Sears parts web site and put in your model number. It will show the parts list and a diagram. You may be able to print it out, Don't remember if there is a print option or not but if you have a screen capture program you could also.

If it overfills and drips, look for an
adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.
