Weedwacker wont turn off

I have a Black and Decker CST 1000 trimmer (cordless) and while trimming my yard the other day the weedwacker suddenly would not turn off and only ran at full speed. Nothing I did to the pull trigger would change this and I eventually had to put the trimmer down and just let the battery run out. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!!

It sounds like a defective switch (part number 243614-00). You can order it at: http://www.blackanddecker.com/CustomerCenter/Parts.aspx for about $5 plus shipping.

We have a Black and Decker CST 1000 and other than the convenience of no cord, it constantly has problems. Won't hold a charge, spool holder cap broke and we can't find the part, handle cracked and finally broke. We have a black and decker blower and it won't turn off either. Fortunately it's corded so we can just unplug it. No more Black and Decker for us.
