Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Ps2 slim console wont turn on!

I was playing Madden, finished game, pushed power button to turn it off, got a small static shock when i pressed power button. Now console wont run, the little green light wont even come on, just stays red and does nothing! HELP!

    I received a static shock from my PS2 and cannot power the unit back up.

    the same thing happened to me last night. i wasplaying nhl 09 got up to go turn the system off and got a static shock and now my ps2 wont turn on or nothing

    The same thing has happened to me after I put a new rug in my room. I searched everywhere and I cant seem to find an answer.

I checked the manual (troubleshooting) 1. turn off PS2 2. unplug it then, plug it back in and turn it on(andprayitstillworks).

Haha i understand your distress :) if your slim ps2 is not turning on, first check and make sure that all your wires and stuff are all plugged in to EVERYTHING. also, make sure your outlet works too. corroded electrical outlets wont work. Also, make sure your PS2 cooler is not blocked in any sort of way. if you need any more issues, just ask :) ~~RJ~~

this solution usually works after your slim PS2 shocked you when you touched the reset button, but you can try it-- it's from the manual:

1. unplug the PS2
2. wait for 1 minute
3. plug in PS2

well first of all your only supposed to press it. dont hold down. i dont really know why, but i suppose if anything something having to do with the power cord. proud to be part of your help

Playstation 2 slim won't turn on
try this:

- turn off PS2
- unplug PS2 and wait 1 minute
- plug in PS2 and turn it on

I know on the fat systems there is a fuse on the top of the unit near the power supply that needs to be changed... I am not so sure about the ps2 slim... check out the forums!

Ps2 playing online madden with the network adaptor
  1. Turn off your PS2 console.
  2. Get your CAT5 Cable (link varies based on where your router or modem is).
  3. Put one end of the cable into the port of the Network adapter (or slim PS2 and PSX) port labeled "Network".
  4. Connect the other end in a free port in your router (or on the port on your broadband modem).
  5. Turn on PS2.
  6. Turn on modem (or router).
  7. Put in online game.
  8. Go to the online section in the game.
  9. Create a network Configuration
  10. Load it
  11. Create an ID.

Ps2 slim madden 08 lag?
yeah, that happens on mine sometimes. IT happens on both the ps2 regular and my madden 07 for psp. I thin it's probably just trying to do too much at once, and slows down because the processor isn't powerful enough.

Need help!!!!!!!!!!!
A previously released Madden NFL 08 update for the PLAYSTATION 3 was causing an error code (80010009) to appear and prevent online game play.

There has been a fix published by Electronic Arts (EA) on this problem.

This has now been resolved, but if you already downloaded the update, you will need to remove it before the game will work.

Please follow the steps provided by Electronic Arts below.


If you have encountered an '80010009' error message after downloading the most recent Madden NFL 08 update, please perform the following steps listed below:
  1. Press the PS button on the controller and select QUIT.
  2. In the main screen of the XMBTM user interface, select Game.
  3. Highlight the Game Data Utility folder and press the X button.
  4. Highlight the Madden NFL 08 file and press the Triangle button.
  5. Delete the file.
  6. Restart the game.
This will allow you to launch and play Madden NFL 08.
