Hi all, I'm having a problem with my JVC av 48wp30 tv. I'm not a tech guy so I'll try to explain this as best i can. When I plug it in and hit the power button, it repeatedly tries to self-adjust the rgb colors. The menu/channel/volume buttons are unresponsive. I see the 9 crosses on the screen for about 1/2 a second at a time, the tv pauses for about 4 or 5 seconds and then displays the crosses again. I also noticed that the red and green appear to be fine, but the blue is way too low on top. Any ideas? I heard that I could replace stk392-110's with stk392-180's, instructions on how to do this would be great!
If you are not a technical guy, you should leave this for the pros, as this will involve you getting a service manual, locating the TWO convergence IC's as you never replace just the one IC as if you do, you will be back inside the set, a few months later. You will need to get some heat sink compound and apply to the back of the convergence IC's before you install them. Just know how to solder well and you should have no problems. You also may still have a problem after you replace the IC's, as sometimes when these IC's go bad, it takes out feedback or return resistors, B+ feed resistors or fuses or circuit protectors. Good Luck, Oh and use only the proper IC's in the set that the service manual calls for.

Thanks for the fast reply Techman! I just ordered the two IC's and got the disassembly instructions for the front of the unit, I'll pull out the convergence pwb and see if it looks like I can do it.
