When The TV is running it makes a high pitched whinning that seems to be coming from the projector

I had the bulb replaced and the picture came back, but every since the bulb first was going bad the projector has been making a high pitched whinning/buzzing whenever the TV is Running.

Sadly, now the lamp has failed to warm up repeatedly. The noise still consists but now there is NO picture.

Its a bad color wheel and you may be able to replace it. You Tube has videos for this.
Look where the lamp faces and see if wheel missing segments or shattered.

SOURCE: 3 blinking lights and no picture

The whine or squealing you hear is either the color wheel or fan. To determine which, when the noise is heard from the set, turn it off and listen carefully. If squealing stops immediately then Tthe fault is the color wheel, not the fan. And sounds like that are generally the color wheel. A new color wheel is Samsung p/n# BP96-00250A for this model. Vance Baldwin carries them for $97.20 plus shipping. https://www.vancebaldwin.com Logon as guest, select parts and copy past the above part number in without any dashes. Good luck... Bill

SOURCE: TV Just Started Making a Humming/Buzzing sound

Replacing a flyback is not something I would suggest for anyone with no electronics experience. Second, lets see where the noise is coming from first. Take off the back and listen to the noise. The flyback will be at one end of the large red wires that go to the tubes. Sometimes the connection at the tube is not 100% and the noise comes from there. BE CAREFUL - there are high voltages going through this red wire that can be dangerous even with the set UNPLUGGED!! IF the noise is coming from the connection at the tube, with the set unplugged, carefully turn the rubber cap back and forth touching only the rubber part with one hand. Put the other hand in you pocket while doing this.

If the noise comes from the flyback side, if you can solder, again with the set unplugged, try resoldering the pins on the transformers. That may resolve the problem.

Keep me posted.

when u plug the set in does it make a whinning noise or a poping noise. this might be a lamp or a color wheel stalled.

SOURCE: when i turn the tv on ,sometimes i hear a high pitched fan noise.

Hi, bearings in color wheel are about to fail, get it fixed now before the wheel shatters the prisms all over the inside of the tv which of course will then cost you more to fix, video-tek

SOURCE: samsung hlr5078wx DLP tv. rumbling noise and shaky picture

This is a color wheel problem.
I would recommend to use professional help because you can make more damage to the optical engine. Not to mention index delay have to be re-adjusted in special service menu after repair is complete.
Regards.
Russ.

Projector turns on but does not illuminate bulb is good

may be either the colorwheel or the ballast. if you hear the colorwheel spin up (high-pitched whir), replace the ballast. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel.

When i turn the projector on i hear a noise...

it's the colorwheel. the bearings are wearing out due to excessive dust and heat. it will need to be replaced. unfortunately, dell doesn't sell parts, so you'll have to send it in for repair.

10-year-old 32" RCA PIP TV just blinked off one morning after about 30 minutes. It makes a continuous high pitch sound, and the on/off switch is completely unresponsive. I assume this is a picture tube and...

It's not the picture tube(especially if image was good b4 it went dead). The high pitch noise is the power supply whinning because it's shorted or overloaded. I just fixed one of these sets - replaced the horiz. o/p transistor and flyback estimate around $120.00-$160.00

if you don't hear a high-pitched whir, your colorwheel needs replacing. you can remove the lamp and see the colorwheel inside (colored glass wheel). if you turn it on without the lamp, the colorwheel should still spin. if it does, you have a ballast problem. if not, the colorwheel. you'd still need to send it in to an infocus authorized service center. try av solutions in ny. they're pretty good.

Our Samsung HL-P4663W DLP is makes noise and shuts off

It is the color wheel, inside the light engine. The bearings get dirty and makes it harder for the wheel to spin causing that whin.
