No picture set has power, audio is ok, but no picture. out of warranty with no extended warranty, any thoughts??

I have a samsung hp-r4252 plasma tv.The audio is fine but no picture. I have troubleshooted the smps, dc pod and dc output. the x-main and the logic board checked out fine. the only problem i found was two fuses(f5006 and f5009) were open on the y-main. I dont know how to test u5001. any knowledge on these componets please respond.

Kennyo, A no picture symptom could be quite a number of things from SMPS failure to SMPS-POD to SMPS-DC board to oneof the main boards. The service manual for this unit has a comprehensive set of tests to preform to narrow down the failure. I have it and would be glad to send it to you. Email me privately. I'm sure your joking about it being covered by warranty..Don't think Ive heard of a TV with a 11 year 4 month warranty

Check the capacitors on the power board, I'm sure you can find several bad ones..search some youtube vids on how to do this if you don't know how

Cost to repair by a technician I'd say 100 bucks

Solution is to get it fixed (hopefully under warranty).

I have the same issue after owning the Vizio 42" LCD for just 5 months. They are coming to replace the part this week. I will also be purchasing the extended warranty as well, to avoid this problem in the future.

I have recently purchased a Samsung PS50P91FD 50 Inch Plasma Tv. The problem is every now and then while watching tv or playing the xbox the picture is lost and a either the screen goes green or orange...

If this set is still within the warranty period, return it for warranty service. Since this is an intermittant problem, I would request an exchange. If they won't exchange the set (even after going up the chain of management), provide specifics about the problem. State up front that this is an intermittant problem. Once reported, the warranty kicks in even if the problem doesn't become hard and fast until after the warranty has expired since the initial report occurred before the warranty expiration. This is not a problem caused by external devices.

Wont turn on

I would contact the warranty because if you even take 1 screw out you will void your warranty, and your set is experiencing deflection problems which can be exspensive to repair

you will have to have a tech come check that one out, your gonna need your y-sustain, z-sustain and both y-drive boards replaced.. its a common issue try to get your warranty extended if its out.

You should go to the audio menu and make sure your not in the SAP(Second Audio Program) mode. also check around at the other features in that audio menu. If still does not work, there is a 3 year warranty on this model. Call up where you bought it and find out who to call for service. Good Luck Ps Please dont forget to rate this thread.
