Two days ago, after recharging and putting new music on my RCA music player, the screen was stuck on "Initializing..." almost all night. The next day, it would not turn on or anything. I tried connecting it to my computer, but it still did not turn on or anything. What should I do?

Try a RESET, holding the MENU/On-Off button for more than 10 seconds.
When the player needs a long time to read a lot of files from one folder, reorganize files into a number of folders.
Should the player freeze, because the format of files does not match the M4204, use the easyRip software to get the data fitting for this device.

1 hold down power button for 15 sec plug it into usb for pc. 2 Get the latest firmware update at RCA website http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/categories.aspx?product=317&post=4 3 reboot pc while RCA is still plugged into the usb device. 4 That fixed mine good luck.
one plug your mp3 player into the usb device of your pc two hold down the power for 10 seconds on your rca player three Go to the RCA website download the latest firmware for your product. Install the firmware while the rca player is still plugged in. It should work just like new after that.
