FYI - our label code was 1411. That did not work for us, but when I tried the code "paulettegg" listed (0302), that *did* work for our unit. I imagine Maytag only had a few various codes depending on the option-package of each unit; based on the quality of the design, it wouldn't surprise me if they got their code-labels mixed up in manufacture. Suggest if more people enter their codes, others can try them to see what might work. Best.FYI - our label code was 1411. You are so right. My code was also 1411 and it didn't work either. I tried the code 0302 this morning before I left for church and it accepted the code. I will see when I get home tonite if the refrig works. I did not want to pay someone to come out and do the same thing I have tried even the repair guy had the same code as I and figured there had to be something else wrong with the refrig if the code did not work. I found fixya.com this morning. Will post if it works but everyone should post their codes so others can see it they work. I wondered the same thing when the code did not work. Did they mix up the codes. I see they may have. Thanks for the posts. You are so right. My code was also 1411 and it didn't work either. Billy, your HV control board has failed. (I know this because I serviced one just last week for the same symptoms and promptly diagnosed and repaired it.)
The board can be accessed from the back of the fridge. Roll it out from the wall and look about 2 feet up from the floor on the left hand side. You'll see the cover held in place by 4 1/4" screws. Remove 3 and loosen the last one, rotate the panel out of your way. The board is a snap to remove and replace.
The part number you will need is #12920710 and is available at your local appliance parts retailer. It lists for ~$150.00. The kit DOES come with instructions to program it once the repair is complete. Read these completely BEFORE doing the repair so you'll know what to do when you've got it back online.
One indirect way is to buy online a replacement board wich comes with the code. Use the code. Return the board for a credit. Make sure you can get a return credit before opting this way.
i would unplug and start again, refer may be board.as you seem to know with out that code in there it wont work[been there done that]and you have to read carefully and do just as instructions say to pull it off.you can do it though. God bless ,tom

See the post on Samurai Appliance Repair Man's site http://applianceguru.com/forum1/13035-1.html for instructions on how it's possible to fix the HV Controller Board power supply filter caps for $5 in Radio Shack parts (really!). You need to be able to solder electronic components, or know someone who can. There are 2 power supply filter caps that appear to go bad and the result is the blinking and flapping. I had the same problem and decided I could not wait for a $150 replacement back-ordered board.
