Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon.

This could be located on the upper row on a laptop keyboard it should have a key something like (((.))) press it on

The internet connection is located in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

The icon looks like a series of rectangles that increase in size from left to right.

Right-click the Wi-Fi icon and select "Connect to a network." You will see a list of available wireless networks.

Choose a Wi-Fi network you want to connect to and select "Connect."

Enter the password into the password text box if a password is required.

If a password is not required, you will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Click "OK."

K55A Asus will not boot and f keys dont work?

Windows 7 and 8 require different keystrokes to boot into Safe Mode, which is your best bet to get help from Windows to diagnose and fix operating system booting errors. Holding down or tapping just the F8 key, the time-honoured method to get into Safe Mode, does not work with Windows 8. Here's a link that explains several ways to get into Safe Mode in Windows 8.

Asus k55a will not turn on. Power light comes on, fan comes on. No hard drive noise or any other light. Running windows 8.1

Take it back to where you bought it and ask them to check the Power Pak. But it sounds like the Hard drive has bit the dust.

Asus k55a-rbr6 Cd Drive not recognized in Devices and Printers, will not run any CD.

The Asus K55A-RBR6 optical drive uses the Windows built-in driver. The drive may have failed or it could have a power or cable issue. To check for a power issue, try ejecting the optical drive by pushing the disc tray into the computer. If the drive tray ejects and retracts, it has power.

First, go to the Device Manager and check if there are any driver issues identified by Windows. (Click Start > Control Panel (in the right hand column. Click on either System and Security > System or Hardware and Devices and then select the Device Manager. Expand the section for DVD/CD-ROM drives and look for a yellow triangle with an exclamation point or a red triangle with an x. Try to uninstall the driver and then reboot the machine. Windows will try to restore the driver. (You should alsocheck Windows Update for any optional drivers. Start > Control Panel > System > Windows Update.)

Check that you have installed the latest available BIOS upgrade (407), from http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K55A/#support .

The laptop uses a SATA slimline internal optical drive. The drive needs a power connector from the internal power supply and a SATA cable connected to the motherboard. You can access these if you disassemble the laptop. You may want to try just replacing the drive (~$25 at many vendors). If the second drive doesn't work, then try replacing the SATA cable and make sure it's well seated at the motherboard and the optical drive. There aren't extra power cables in most laptops but you should check for damage. Alternatively, get an external USB optical drive to replace the internal drive.

I hope this helps.

My asus n61j won't connect to the Internet using internal adapter

Hi there, I just bought a new Asus NJ series, and all of a sudden my wireless dissapeared! I FOUND THE SULOTION, well, I hope it works for you. Look on the left side of your laptop, right at the front left side is a switch/button. I think I accidentally switched it of, but now everything is working fine!
