Hello, Just had a casabalanca 84u45d ceiling fan installed. Seems to low. Installer said cannot go any closer to ceiling.Store said it should. Who is correct.Need as close to ceiling as apossible.tks

It seems that the Turn of the Century brand of ceiling fans are sold (new) exclusively by Menards in the USA.

I suggest you call this Turn of the Century / Menards Customer Service phone number and ask about the availability of a replacement remote control for your ceiling fan:

Note: I hope I am correct in thinking you installed a fresh battery / batteries for your ceiling fan remote control.

Ceiling fans often come with two lengths of tubing to mount on different height ceilings. If you have it mounted with the long tube you may be able to remove that and install a shorter one. Alternatively you may be able to shorten the tube. If you are hitting the cupboards you are not centered in the room and it really should be, to be most effective.

The light on the remote is a battery light. First mistake was buying a store brand fan which are mostly low-end parts. Try adding a different remote w/receiver.

Can you describe the mounting bracket for this fan?
If it is a ball mount, then there is a groove in the ball that connects to a tab in the mounting bracket. if the tab is gone or the ball is not sitting down in the bracket so that it is secure , then that is the problem. You may be able to find a replacement brachet in a home depot type store .

Installation:
Hang your ceiling fan on the Quick Connect fan bracket and wire the ceiling fan according to the manufacturer's instructions. The three wires coming from your ceiling should match the three wires coming from your ceiling fan: black (positive or hot), white (neutral or negative) and green (ground wire).


Use the high, medium and low keys on the remote to adjust the Hampton Bay fan speed, then use the light key to dim the light and the off key to turn off the fan.


For REMOTE CONTROL FANS you cannot use with any variable speed or slide wall switches. The remote control function must be used with on & off switch outlets only.

If the ceiling fan can be converted, you can buy the conversion kit from lowes or home depot. The diagram for the kit will be in package with it.
