Hitachi dz-mv730a I cannot get videos from my dvd-r disk onto my computer, it will not read, cannot use a usb instead because there is no port on this camera for it....any body help me?

    I've tried putting the disc into my pc and dvd player- DVD player doesn't recognize but I'd really like to connect to pc. Is there any software available where I can store the recordings on PC?

Go to disc navigation on ur camcorder then hit the menu button and scroll down til u get to the finalize cd option. make sure you have a full battery cuz if it gets interupted it might corrupt the dvd

Try to finalize the DVD disk. When the disk is finalized you can play it on ordinary DVD player , you can then rip the video using video ripping software.

Hi I think this may helps you. Uninstall the program on your PC and install it againg and try do finalize or try with difrent disk or download another program for burning disks. I hope this will help if not give me more information. http://www.hitachi.us/jsp/hitachi/support/index.html

yes, you can do it through acouple different ways, if you want it at VERY GREAT quality, you can use a firewire cable (if you have a firewire or minidv port) or you could go through usb with the appropriate cable, or through svideo cable(recommended) then once you have the camera plugged in, you can simply open windows movie maker and click on capture from device, then go through the steps...once you're done importing all the video you need, then you'll have to "Save to my computer" so that it can be played as a regular standard wmv file.

I am using an sd card when i hit the record button it says cannot record video on the model number DZ-GX5020

Sorry, but as far as I know, Hitachi camcorders cannot record video directly onto an SD card. You have to set the camcorder to DVD. It can only record video and pictures on a DVD, and only pictures on an SD card.

Camcorder

This camera sucks, total waste of money, i dont know how dumb hitachi techs were , who designed it. No USB support, You cant play back recorded dvd in to computer or watch in tv from dvd player, through this cam at nariman point and purchase soni instead with hard disk recording.
