SOURCE: trouble shoot microwave

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Also, are any other of your electrical items (light bulbs, DVDs, etc.) failing lately? This could indicate improper power line voltage.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Yes, this is a major issue concerning the control board(control fault). replacing the control will fix this issue.

How to set the clock Model NN-SA651S

To set the clock, press Timer/Clock twice when the microwave is not in use. The colon between the hour and minutes should start to blink. Type the current time (12-hour clock) with the appropriate number key pads. To save the time and exit the clock set mode, press Timer/Clock once more. Note: if you take too long to begin typing the time, the microwave may exit the time set mode. In that case, the colon will stop blinking. None of the other features of the microwave will work when the colon is blinking.

This is shown on page 11 of the manual which is available on the Panasonic NN-SA651S support page: http://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/NN-SA651S.html . The direct link to the manual is currently ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/microwaveoven/om/nn-sa631_nn-sa651_nn-sa661_en_om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

The colon between the numbers on the clock, example 8:00 won't stop blinking even after I set the clock and hit the clock button again.

Sometimes the correct procedure for setting the clock is to press the CLOCK or TIME OF DAY button, then enter the time on the keyboard, then press the START button instead.

Otherwise, as long as you can enter a cooking time and your oven operates normally, then don't worry about it. On some models it is normal for the colon on the clock display to blink all the time.

Good luck.

I have an Emerson Microwave Oven MW8997W and cannot change the hour (time) on my clock. How do I change the clock? Debbie

If your keys do not work at all, you probably have a bad keypad, in which case I'd ask you to reply back. In the meantime:

SETTING THE CLOCK

When the microwave oven is plugged into an outlet,
the oven will display " 0:00 "

1. Press the CLOCK button; the hour digit will blink
and the clock indicator will light.

2. Press the number keys to set current hour.

3. Press the number keys to set current minute.

4. Press AM/PM to choose AM or PM.

5. Press the CLOCK button again; the display will
show the present time. After the clock has been set,
the time will appear with blinking colon, unless
the oven is cooking or defrosting.
