You cannot get your tv to play surround sound through the speakers, but if your tv has either a scart 21 pin socket or an audio out, you can fit a scart to phono adapter and connect the phono plugs to the audio left right input on your sound system, likewise if you have audio left and right output(phono) on the tv, connect to audio in on your unit. You should have a choice of output channels on the system menu, similiar to DVD/video1/video2 or output 1 and 2 or auxilliary 1 and 2

I can not turn the tv spekers

suspect a issue with the socket where the headphones connect to the set---when inserted it should cut speaker sound off---often a loose connection.

I have a panasonic 50'' plasma tv.. there are no audio outputs on the tv. and im trying to hook up my dvd player/surround sound to get the sound from my tv.. and i dont have a settop box.. is there any way...

If you have a VCR, you could tune it to the same channel as the TV and run the audio outputs from the VCR to your amp. Both would have to be on at the same time to work.

Use an HDMI cable from your surround sounds output to your t.v.s input or use a three wire red, white, andyellow r.c.a. cable from surround out to t.v. in.

Rear spekers no sound

Is the source signal of a surround sound type? Also, be sure that the rear speakers are on, (if your receiver has a speaker switch on it), and they are hooked up properly.
