Question about Samsung DynaFlat TX-P3071WH 30" TV

1 Answer

Interesting problem Previously this TV would turn off after running for sometime. No sound not picture. I looked in and visibly found that the capacitor after mains rectifier was kind of bulged out. Replaced with a new one (820microFarad/250V) and then turned it on. It did not. But then pushed main board up a little and it started up. Left it running for a few hours, it did not turn off (like it was previously). But when I tried to turn on after some time, it does not turn on. Any ideas??

It sounds as if you have a cold solder joint. I would check for bad solder joint(s) around the flyback transformer as this can be a common problem in some televisons.

VISABLE LINES IN PICTURE

Bulb replacement will only repair reduced brightness or contrast problem. Sometimes shadows or lines (usually curved or circular) appear in the image if the bulb is weak or faulty. This will show with the color turned off and a black and white image displayed.

Most visible color faults are caused by optical engine failure. Big cost, as the complete assembly has to be replaced.

Occasionally there are video processing or tuner problems that require serious troubleshooting to determine what board has to be replaced.

If the fault is not visible on the customer menu and appears only with input signal viewed, you may have a cable box or other signal input problem. Check various input signals to see if the problem is visible with all inputs.

Running the channel scan with vhf input signals sometimes clears up a lot of problems. Your cable company may have changed or adjusted rf modulators or other equipment and the tv needs to be aligned to the changed signal. Auto tuner scans will take care of these problems.

PANASONIC 36" TAU --- NEED HELP

Sounds terminal. Companies build things with "planned obsolescence" in mind. In other words. You buy a TV today, and the warranty says it's good for 4 years. 4 years and 3 months later, it dies.

I hope someone else can help you.
Good Luck!
