Question about Alpine MRP-F300 Car Audio Amplifier
I bought the amp about 5 months ago. It worked flawlessly up until the other day when it just cut off. I looked at the amp and the ground wire had come loose. I reattached it and now the amp's power light will turn on when the head unit is turned on, but then the power light just fades off shortly after. When I checked the voltage between the battery terminal and ground wire terminal on the amp, the reading was less than 1 volt and continued to slowly decrease. However, when the power wire was removed from the amp and I checked the voltage between the power wire and the ground terminal on the amp, it read the full voltage of the battery. I checked both of the 25A fuses on the amplifier itself for continuity using a DMM and they both passed. I also checked the voltage on the fuse that is located on the amp's power cable. The reading was the full voltage of the battery. I even disconnected all cables and tightened up all of the connections to be sure there were no stray strands of wire causing a short. There was no smoke or funny smell or even heat from the amplifier. I didn't even hear any "popping noise" from it. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
main problem i think you are having is your loosing power when it kicks a note.. get a power cap! power caps feed your amps constant power! this will solve your problem :)

SOURCE: Equipment not turning on!???
Have you tried checking the remote wire yet? Because it could very possibly be that. Without a remote wire hooked up, you cannot get any power. Try that and see if it works.

Sounds to me like it might be the remote turn on because the first time i installed it, it did the same thing, and i found out that there is two blue wires coming out the stereo, one with a white stripe, i connected it to the blue wire, and it didnt work, then i connected it to the blue and white wire, and it worked. Well hope this solves your problem, goodluck.
