Question about Acer MF35 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Won't charge I have had my MP3 player for going on 3 years, I have never had a problem with it. This last week I noticed that when I plug it into my computer, it turns on as usual (as if it is going to charge) and then the little battery looking icon on the bottom right hand side starts flashing from a full battery to a chargeable battery icon. I have never seen this before. And when I do unplug it and turn it on, it shows that it hasn't charged at all. I have tried uninstalling it and installing it and all the other property checks on troubleshooting and everything seems in order. Any ideas??

My battery for my mp3 won't last long

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Dead battery

Charge the battery using the supplied USB cable. The salesperson meant that the battery would last for years before it will no longer take a charge and need to be replaced.

Sansa sandisk mp3 player 1 gig

Theoretically, you should be able to use this one forever, if you keep charging it. The battery isn't replaceable, so hopefully it will last you a good 3 years or more. The #1 threat to Mp3 players isn't the battery, but keeping up with software/computer environment changes. Most mp3 players introduced to date only last 1-2 years - much shorter than everyone had originally thought.
