AUDIOVOX fpe3707hr power lights up blue screen but no picture

AUDIOVOX FPE3707HR FLAT PANEL LCD TV. POWER LIGHTS UP The LCD Backlight comes on with a blank Blue screen. No AudioVox Logo. We tried turning it off and on, unplugging it and leaving it off and coming back to it later: Sometimes it works and we get the AudioVox logo and it works fine from then on. This time however, the TV simply will not come on. The Screen is still blue. The LCD backlight has power, but it does not come on.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

SOURCE: Sound but no picture

This can be a Power supply failure- some of the filter caps could cooked dry and the yellow glue they use in this power supply turns conductive where it turns dark brown. You can unsolder the devices and feet on the heatsinks and remove them along with the stand-up driver board. Change some of the filter caps-1000u/16V, 470u/16V, 47u/50V, 10u/50V. Scrape and pick off the brown glue from all devices. Removed the fan and found the bearing was seized in it. Power supply will now run properly with the defect fan unplugged.

SOURCE: Audiovox LCD FPE3206 problems

Same thing here. Seems like there is an issue with the power supply. There is an interesting buzzing sound coming from the power supply. The power supply is located underneath the rear panel of the set. The panel is relatively easy to remove and it looks like the Power Supply would be pretty simple to replace.

Would like to know where to get a new one. This TV is just over a year old and out of the manufacturers warranty period.

If anyone else has tinkered around with this set and has any other incite to share Id be very interested in hearing it.

Thanks

SOURCE: Audiovox FPE3206 - Power Light is Blue/ON but Screen is BLACK

I had the same problem, except with a flashlight I could see AUDIOVOX when i turned it on and I could see the video when I put a DVD in. It is hard to see even with a flashlight so you have to look closely. Well, I researched and investigated what might be the problem because I was upset that I had the TV for less than two years. Everyone was saying the inverter was defective. Apparently the inverter is what gives the LCD screen the back light to see the video. So I called audiovox and found that thier part's selection was only a power board and a remote control for this TV. I asked them if they could get me an inverter and they did. With shipping cost it was approximately $150.00. They ensured that I know that there is no refund on this part (which is common for electical parts). So I took a chance on it not being the right part for the problem. I replaced the defective inverter myself and it worked. It solved my problem. The inverter is a circuit board that plugs in and has a few screws to hold it in place. I had to remove the back cover first and a couple of brackets inside the tv to get to the inverter and replace it. There is a quite a few screws so I recommend writing down where each came from for easier reassembly. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Audiovox FPE3000 - no pix, has sound.

Either the back light (a fluorescent) has failed or the inverter that furnishes high voltage for the tube. I'm pasting my suggested procedure below-
If it is affecting video only, the display's fluorescent back light or the power supply for it (inverter) is probably at fault and without some technical background and a couple of test instruments, you will not be able to do the repair yourself.
What you can do though is; unplug the set, let it stand overnight or at least several hours, remove the back panel and look for a smaller separate board with some larger components on it; it will have ferrite core transformer(s) on it and some medium-size capacitors which are cylindrical and mounted vertically to the board.

Before touching anything inside, especially on either board, allow several hours to be safe since the larger capacitors in the main power supply can hold a painful voltage charge for some hours.

The section most likely to fail and cause your problem will be one that you see associated more with the display than the incoming AC line; the latter is the main power supply and its failure would result in no sound or video.

If you see signs of overheating such as discoloration of the board material, it may not be repairable but if you can find a part number on the board, you might be able to buy the power supply from the manufacturer and install it yourself.
They are typically connected with non-interchangeable connectors.

If there are no signs of heat damage to the board, there may be companies offering to repair it as a subassembly instead of repairing the whole set which could be much more expensive.
If you choose to replace or have it done, the power supply still may not be at fault since a failure of the fluorescent, while likely to be less common, is the second possibility.

How to fix an lg 47LE5400 tv power lights come on but no picture

If it's a led tv and if you have sound and, also, if you can see the picture with a flashlight very near on the screen in the dark, that means your backlight or your inverter circuit that control the backlight are defect. Good luck,

Serge.

Sound but no picture

The first thing that comes to mind is that the brightness and contrast or turned all the way down. See if you can't turn them up. Otherwise it may be the backlight inverter or backlight itself. Most likely the inverter, sometimes you can tell by looking really close to the screen, if you can still see a faint image then the inverter needs to be replaced. Probably a job for a technician but that depends how comfortable you feel opening up the TV and ordering parts online.

Good Luck!

Powers on, no display

Do you have sound? If so, dim the lights in the room and shine a bright flashlight on the screen and see if you have a faint picture. If you have a faint picture, you have a backlight problem. On most of those sets, the backlight inverter is combined with the power supply so that power supply/inverter board will more than likely be the culprit!

Blank screen with blue light

Hello
Check the backlight inverter board to your TV. This is a common fault for most of the LCD TVs. If it is faulty, the backlight won't light up, resulting a balck screen with sound.
This is the picture of the backlight inverter board to your TV. OK.12_23_2011_4_29_45_am.jpg

Audiovox model FPE3000, has sound and picture but

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Check fuse.
Is this a LCD, Plasma ect...
Do you have sound?
If LCD and you have sound use a flashlight, shine on screen check for faint picture. If you see picture the problem is the backlight has failed, check inverter board for blown fuse.
