Graphics card kupput!

My samsung X15+ has been diagnosed by pros as graphics card damaged and they all want big bucks to replace motherboard. I took all the screws out but the laptop doesnt come apart. How do I take the thing apart and can I replace motherboard myself? Mine is a 1.6 centrino. Can I put something faster in it (1.7, 1.8 etc)?

Screen problem blackout

Make sure the video cable is securely plugged into the VGA port of your motherboard or graphics card. If you still don't get signal and are using onboard graphics then your motherboard has become faulty. I suggest you take your computer to your nearest PC store and have a technition diagnose the extent of the damage. If you were using a graphics card before you lost signal the you will need to plug the monitor video cable into onboard graphics. If you get signal now then it means that your graphics card has become faulty. If you still don't get signal after plugging into onboard graphics then it means either youir motherboard is faulty or your graphics card or both. Best take it to a PC technition to have it tested. Another thing to try is to try another monitor on the system to test if the other is malfunctioning or not.

I have required a damaged laptop with no display. The laptop is a packard bell lj65-dt-100. I have check the ''F'' buttons i case it has been switch off, but no. And also tried an ex-monitor but no signal...

If the laptop POSTs, meaning you get the little lights flashing and possibly a few beeps, then the problem is likely with the integrated graphics card.

On a few laptops, the graphics car is replaceable, but usually it is integrated into the motherboard and would require an electronics repair person PLUS a replacement graphics card. Not a pretty situation.

Here is the link to the PB site for that laptop.

I need to replace a damaged vga port on a k8uupgrade-760gx motherboard

You've got 3 options if you can solder.
- A VGA port is about 3 bucks from an electronics store, and you could resolder the end back on.
- a new board is about 60 bucks if you can find one
- a PCI/AGP video card is about 30 bucks and just bolts right in

Personally, I'd reccomend the PCI/AGP video card, the Ati 2400HD is a great card. Hit up your local Kijiji to fine one

There are three PCI slots on yoyr motherboard. You can add any PCI VGA card to your board. After adding the VGA goto BIOS setup and make ON BOARD VGA DISABLED.
