Slowness and Audio Vibrations

When I start my machine the OS take lot of time to Load. The Audio files while running creates a vibrating noise especially when mouse is used while running the Audio file.Is it a common problem with VGN-FS980 . Any solution to this?

  • ironman55_24 Oct 05, 2008

    Yeah, Hi,

My Sony Vaio VGN-FS980, when starting up sounds like someone is rapidly vibrating the music during start up, and while using iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc... So when i uninstall my DVD drive, the same one that came with it, everything sounds fine, but when i took my computer in to get repaired, they said there was nothing wrong with the drive, so I'm wondering what's wrong with my PC. I really like it, and don't want to get rid of it. But I don't want this problem any more.

  • Beckster_Man Oct 14, 2008

Yes, I too have this problem. With me it happens every once in a while and will not be fixed unless I do a system restore from safe mode. Until then, it will take an extremely long time to start up, and the audio is GREATLY stretched and distorted because of this slowness, which does not go away. No one seems to have the solution to this, it is NOT the startup items, nor is it viruses/spyware. I personally think it's a defect in this series.

Firstly, your startup is slow more than likely because you have too many unecassary programmes running on start up, so download the excellent free ccleaner programme from the link below and analyse the system and run a clean up and also click the tools tab and startup tab, here you will see all the programmes running on satrtup, you can delete them in this programme from the startup, althogh this doesnt delete the entire programme, only the start up. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ the noise from the audio files needs to be explained a little better, unless you mean the vibration from the dvd drive, if so this is common on some drives when they have difficulty reading files, or if you mean files that are on your pc are causing vibrations, the only thing i can think is that maybe your onboard mic volume or boost is set too high and is picking up the sound and reverbing.

2kd hilux weak engine with mass smoke

The symptoms you're describing with your 2KD Hilux engine (weak engine with mass smoke, vibrations on rev, and less power) could be caused by several different issues. Here are a few possibilities:
  1. Excessive engine oil consumption: If the engine is consuming too much oil, it could be burning the oil and creating a lot of smoke. This could be due to worn engine components such as pistons, rings or valve seals.
  2. Clogged air filter: A clogged air filter can restrict the airflow to the engine, causing it to run poorly and produce more smoke.
  3. Timing issues: If the timing is off on the engine, it can cause poor performance, vibrations and smoke.
  4. Fuel injection system issues: A malfunctioning fuel injection system can cause poor engine performance, vibrations and smoke.
  5. Turbocharger problems: A malfunctioning turbocharger can also cause vibrations, smoke and less power.

How can i increase the stabilize time of machine?

There are a few different approaches you can take to increase the stability of a machine:

Regular maintenance: Regularly maintaining a machine can help to ensure that it is running smoothly and efficiently. This can involve cleaning and lubricating parts, replacing worn or damaged components, and performing other necessary repairs.

Stabilize the load: If the machine is experiencing instability due to an uneven or fluctuating load, you may be able to improve stability by adjusting the load to be more evenly distributed or by using a load stabilizing device.

Use a vibration damper: If the machine is experiencing instability due to vibrations, you may be able to reduce these vibrations by using a vibration damper. These devices are designed to absorb and dissipate vibrational energy, which can help to stabilize the machine.

Improve the machine's design: In some cases, it may be possible to improve the stability of a machine by modifying its design. This could involve making changes to the machine's structure, adding additional support or reinforcement, or using more stable materials.

It is important to note that the specific steps you can take to increase the stability of a machine will depend on the specific machine and the factors that are causing instability. It may be helpful to consult with a mechanic or engineer to determine the best approach for your specific situation.

Humming noise, then why did it stop after it was filled with clothes/water?

the noise could be a frequency vibration from the motor wanting to run but couldn't because the start /run capacitor has failed
frequency vibrations are also present if either of the water control solenoids are failing
get a service technician in to check it all out

Whynter Portable Air Conditioner Model: ARC-14S. Problem: It sounded as if something fell inside the unit while it was operating (cooling) then it started to vibrate horribly. The vibration is only...

Hi,Whynter Portable Air Conditioner has many moving parts, and they all make noise and cause vibrations. Some of these parts are more likely to causing shaking and loud noises, and sometimes this signals a larger problem, something to watch and scrutinize. If serious enough, it calls for a repair.

Loose Parts

Loose parts cause the majority of shaking and vibration noises in your air conditioner. A few of the most common loose parts include the air compressor, the piston rods and even the fan or blower unit itself. These noises are clunking, clanking sounds that occur along with a vibrating action. The only method of repair is a complete compressor replacement, which is a repair only a certified air conditioner technician is qualified to make. The compressor is a fully sealed component, so individual parts in the compressor cannot be repaired.

Fan Blades

Fan blades cause noise, shaking and vibrations even when properly secured. If fan blades contact the exterior structure of the air conditioner due to a bent fan blade or broken and misaligned grate, a constant, repetitive noise and vibration results, which sounds like a ticking or banging from the interior of the air conditioner. Vibration in this case is limited but still present.

Mounting Brackets

When an air conditioner shakes, there is a problem with the mounting brackets. These brackets hold the air conditioner compressor steady as it operates. Normal vibrations and shaking would otherwise occur without these brackets. A loose mounting bracket causes the air conditioner to rock back and forth and creates a clanking sound. As the compressor starts up, this rocking and clanking sound begins, resulting in a very loud and fast vibration and noise. It also occurs when the unit shuts down.

Other Sounds and Vibrations

Sometimes air conditioners squeal, hiss, hum or screech. Each noise is often accompanied by a vibration. Humming sounds along with a vibration may indicate a bad capacitor, the electrical part responsible for starting the machine. Hissing sounds tend to indicate a pressure problem while screeching and squealing sounds are fairly common in window air conditioners and in central air conditioners. This sound is also a result of the compressor motor. It usually starts when the unit turns on and continues through its normal operating cycle. Vibrations always occur in the air conditioner due to moving parts and the compressor motor's operation.

We just had a new top-load Maytag Washer delivered. When the man finished installing it, he started a wash cycle and left. When it got to the spin cycle there was a lot of vibration. It doesn't...

NO. Have you checked if he installed an anti vibration pads. This is because the high frequency vibrations caused by the spin cycle can cause annoying noise and very serious long term structural damage to you home.

MAYTAG Wahing machine model MAV6000AWQ

I believe your machine is equipped with a "snubber plate" under the transmission. A lot of Maytag top-loaders are. This is a white teflon ring that is used as the wash tub and transmission support and assists in dampening vibrations during the spin cycles. It's located on the inside case of the machine under your transmission. When the snubber goes bad they generally start to squeak. They cannot be lubricated and must be replaced. If you try to oil them, they will eventually disintegrate. The snubber costs less than $10 to purchase. I hope this helps.
