Samsung SyncMaster 191T

Hi, I have used a Samsung SyncMaster 191T for serveral years, and today it has gone completeley black. I cannot get anything displayed on the screen. I cannot even get the Menu button to display anything. Normally I connect via a Port Replicator, but i connected directly to my laptop and still, nothing appeared. The Green light does switch on, so there is power, and I can see that the mouse and keyboard are ok. Please help...I really appreacite it.

    Well a similar problem...
After a while the screen blacks out, then you push the source button to switch from digital to analog and back and it comes back then after a bit blacks out again. Monitor connected via DVI.
What do you think the issue is?
    Is it repairable?

    LMK and THX

I have the same problem with my 191T. Completely Black screen but the green light is on. Is it finished? Dead? Or is it fixable? Thanks.

Sounds like the invertor board in the monitor is bad or the LCD screen has had it and needs replacing.

The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 191T. My cat laid down on the keyboard today and now I am looking at an upside down screen. Can you help me out?

If you are in Windows XP, you can use the following key combination:
CRTL + ALT + up arrow
I am not sure if this combination works in Windows 7.
Good luck.

I think I might have fried my Samsung SyncMaster 191T, by plugging/unplugging a dvi cable while the power was on (on both the computer and the monitor). Right now, when I enable the display using the...

Unlikely unless you discharged a large static shock into the connector as you were doing this. I have never seen a monitor or computer video port damaged by connecting the cable while power is on.

Try unplugging the power cable to the monitor for 10min or more and then reconnect and see if it starts to work.

Samsung SyncMaster 191T

You have either a bad inverter board or burned out backlight fluorescent bulb. Very common on this monitor.

No more image on SyncMaster 191T...but

I would suggest that your Video card isn't working correctly.. OR the drivers won't work properly. Try a replacement Video card.
