Question about Panasonic NV-DS60 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Windows Movie maker running on my Laptop (Windows VISTA Home Premium) is not able to detect my NV DS 60 when I connect through the Firewire port (using 4pin - 4 pin Cable). I checked that the firewire port has been enabled on the PC. Any suggestions?

For ages I couldn't work out how to do this either but it does work with a firewire cable - I'm not sure who you asked at Panasonic but they list a cable specifically to transfer video from the camera to your PC and it turns out that it's a simple firewire cable. I use Windows MovieMaker and the camera is not recognised until you switch the camera on in the right order - then it appears in the capture devices menu - great camera but some more detailed instructions relating to its connection to a PC would have been helpful

Have you tried going to Panasonic site and searching for a download Vista patch?

I had the same trouble went to Panasonic who told me tapes from this camcorder CAN NOT be downloaded to computer directly, you have to burn from camera to to DVD recorder then load into computer........this camcorder is a BAD investment
