Started off with the same problem but after trying all the above I can now copy music files into the MP4 window on screen, but when I want to play from the MP4 after it's disconnected from the computer, the Music menu shows the disk is empty.

Bought the same MP4 player and found the problem of dounloding to be just that. solved it by making a new folder on desktop called MP3 and downloaded everything into that folder and then draged it into the device found in Computer files. hope this helps. havent found how to download videos yet. will keep working. not much help on this player.

I had the same problem with a Eurolab MP4 player. Turned out the USB cable that came with it was faulty. Try using another USB cable, ie. one from your printer. The MP4 player will come up as an external hard drive. Just copy and paste the MP3's and correctly recompressed MP4's onto it, and it should be right to go.
