Powers off immediately after turning on. Batteries are new. Reset detector. Still occurs; turn on, immediately get "powering Off" message.Powers off immediately after turning on. Batteries are new. Reset detector. Still occurs; turn on, immediately get "powering Off" message.

lister what is a lister. im 65. this is posted to CAR RADAR DETECTORs. is this true? first state what it is. and model number or name. and age of device. if known. more input, can results i great answers. and be sure you are on the right forum here, Cars. ? or ?
The service message indicates something isn't working as expected. This usually happens right after powering on, when the detector runs its self-check and receives an unexpected result. Continuing to rely on this device for radar warnings could be expensive.
Contact Escort Radar Support to arrange for service to restore reliable operation.
THis is a weird one! The only thing that makes sense is some sort of interference that is impacting the electronics inside the detector. Sometimes ignition "noise" can cause this behavior. I have seen ignition noise so severe that a Garmin GPS would not work inside the car.
Can you test this without moving the car? If you rev the engine while the car is parked, does the detector still go off? This will allow you to determine if there is some form of intermittent operation inside the detector caused by solder joints, etc., or a problem associated with electrical noise.
Well first off in doing so removing the batterys before you powered it off its stuck in some kind of error mode. Try putting the batteries in, holding the power button down for a few seconds and see if the light stops blinking. Second Idea if you have a local radio shack they have replacment power cords for radar detectors there about 10 dollars. I had to go buy one for mine. After powering it up with that Id say it should work fine.
There is no place where you can send it in for any type of service. Not only that, your Solo's performance is horribly outdated compared to any current Bel or Escort radar detector model. Even Whistler offers high end models which significantly outperform your old Solo. It is time to upgrade, plain and simple.
This is caused from voltage fluctuation. Your car will draw down power from the radar detector and it goes off. Passport/escort need to come out with an inline voltage conditioner. Maybe soon.
