You can get 2 ga power wire and a grounding block and get some 10 ga speaker wire or 8 ga and cut to length (leave a little play to move enclosure a bit) also get power fuse block for battery location..

What amp should I use?

Yes they information available on them they are still around. You will need a class-D 300 watt RMS amp to run them at perfect power if i remember right they are 150 watt RMS,, 450 watt max per sub.// just never mind the max it means nothing. They are a 4 ohm sub i believe so you would want to get a 1 ohm stable amp. two 4 ohm subs can be run at 1 ohm wired in series. they are actually made by audio vox corp.to wire them is easy ill give a link to do so easy to use. and handy. let me look for some info on your sub...? Yes there is info out there here is another link. Need additional help give a shout.

Im looking at this rockford fosgate p700-1bd amp brand new for $300 it comes with a birth sheet it says 750 rms on a 1ohm load. i cant find any reviews about it 225 rms x 1 @ 4-Ohms 450 rms x 1 @ 2-Ohms...

You can't go wrong with Rockford, in my opinion. Everything they make is well built and high quality. I personally have two Rockford p500-1bd amps hooked up to four 12 inch subs in my car and those amps make those subs slam. I have them wired down to 1 ohm and the specs say that they should be pushing 500 rms a piece at 1 ohm so that p700-1bd amp really packs a punch. Depending on what you're hooking up to that amp I would defenitely recommend it to you. - Ryan in Alaska

I was given a kenwood kac742, what do i have to do to hook up 2 subs to it tom

You need:
1) 2 4-ohm subs
2) Appropriate enclosure
3) Amp wiring kit with RCA's

Connect each sub to a separate channel and set both mode switches to "MONO" (center position). In 2-channel mode, this amp is only rated at 80 Watts RMS, so you need relatively small and efficient subs. I'd say nothing bigger than 8" or perhaps 10". Rockford-Fosgate P1S48 (8") and R1S410 (10") will work OK with 50-150 watts RMS. Some others will also.

I have a rockford fosgate p250.2 amp hooked up to two 12' subs but the amp is not powering on... instead the protect light is on and im not sure if its because its so cold outside... please help and thank...

Remove the load from the amplifier (subs) and the RCAs
Retry.
If the light stays on, there are internal problems with the amplifier, and it needs to be serviced.
If the amplifier works normally, attach the RCA's and power on again.
If it remains on, connect one sub, and then the other.
Your amplifier is a 2 channel amplifier rated at
60 Watt - 4 Ohm - 2 channel(s)
125 Watt - 2 Ohm - 2 channel(s)
250 Watt - 4 Ohm - 1 channel(s)
Your amplifier is not rated for a 2 ohm mono load.
If you have Single voicecoil subs wired in parallel, you have a 2 ohm mono load - your amplifier will eventually fail.

Quick question, amp problem

make sure you ground wires arent shared, meaning run each ground wire from each amp to its own grounding point

Sub hook ups

There's a lot more factors involved than that.
  • Power capability of the subs
  • Type/size of the sub box
  • Allotted space in the vehicle for the sub box
  • Voice coil impedance of the subs versus the capability of the amp
  • Etc.
